Last blog of 2011! woo-hoo!

Thats right, this is the last post of 2011......as per usual, 2011 wasnt too exciting of a year...i turned 40...found my first geocache...bought my very first brand new tv! a feeling of change in the air has grown stronger over the year......and for some reason has gotten stronger today...i want a change in my life this coming year, do something different..start my own business..a different..better job perhaps...i dont know..but 2012 will be the year of change for me......i lost my sweet, 3 old friends this year, sombra, Yakko, and Maxx, my black lab and 2 cats...adopted 2 new friends.. 2 new kittens......Or-la is still doing great......bought my very first handgun this year as well......bought and used fireworsk legally for the first time in Az this year! and going to use alot more tonight!!! hehe......and also as per usual, doing laundry today...i also got my first cold or any sickness forthe first time in about 5 or so years..bummer......oh well......by and far, not a bad year.......well.mom and dad just called, theyre on their weay home..so ive got to get back to chores......until next time....or i guess i should say....until next year....

well well...1 week til christmas.....

Tis a week before christmas, next saturday is christmas eve to be exact...and ive accomplished alot these last few weeks...mainly, I got my new tv!!! i got it a month or so earlier because mom was kind enough to let me use her amazon prime so i could make payments and i even got free overnight shipping!...and mom and dad even made a payment for me...100 bucks..as a christmas present! how kind..i got my tv in the first week of november!! just in time for zelda: skyward sword to come out on the 20th..which i received the day after it shipped because it came from the phoenix amazon warehouse..only about 300 miles from here!!! i'm about not quite half way through the game..its freakin awesome! i managed to get my christmas shopping done as well! i have one thing coming by ups tomorrow.....mom wants to get dad one more thing.....but done fro the most part...mom and i have to start baking next week, so we'll have butter balls and fudge balls, and choco chip oatmeal cookies,. and cheese balls for christmas and new years!.....hopefully we can get it all done before christmas next weekend, mom and dad have a busy week, theyll be gone for 3 days next week seeing family and doctors appts etc... i got to see a really good movie yesterday, and i experienced holiday rudeness first hand as well.  I saw the new sherlock holmes..it was absolutely freakin amazing movie! walmart was so packed yesterday i had to park at home depot next door and walk over... it amazes me how freakin rude people can be this close to christmas...barging right infront of you with their carts and giving YOU a dirty look as if it was your fault! pushing and shoving, tryin to get down the isle first, not caring that youre waiting to get passed them, they just stand in the middleof the isle and ignore everything else...glad i didnt have to do too much shopping...i also stopped at the new pet store, petsense...its alright..mighty expensive..walmart has em beat hands down on every price i'm sorry to say.....i took a freinda advice and got some rum and egg nog..very very good combo! I went to my first christmas party in many years friday night...had a good time..basically we all ate, socialized a bit then went home! they were trying to put the tablecloth away while i was still eating! it was only 7 pm! sheesh! some party..but i did have pecan pie for the first time in my life that night..and fried turkey! very good! then the next day i went shopping and saw a movie..and today..i'm doing laundry etc since i didnt start it yesterday, i have to do it all in one day today! and mom wants me to go to a couple store in town today yet...no rest forthe weary i guess =) nothing major next week i hope......i'm shipping a friend of mines his xmas/birthday gift tomorrow..other than that...nothing planned..probably play zelda tonight since i havent touched it in days! withdrawal!!!! heh......until next time...

Thursday Thoughts......

Thought I would try something new... a new day themed blog entry....it just popped in my head..we'll see how it goes...so welcome to the first, and hopefully not only, installment of Thursdays thoughts! so far, my thoughts have been occupied by studying for the Amateur extra license tesat, which I'll be taking in early December...I saw on the news this morning they supposedly killed khaddafi..finally....finally some justice for the flight 103 families, finally major changes coming to a Libya that sorely needs them...It seems all the cruel dictators in the world are falling like dominos..how long before North Korea falls? hmmm...those people are so freakin brainwashed it may never happen....wishful thinking...heh...and of course, Obama the dipshit has taken credit...what a freakin moron, yes, he made the dangerous decision to send troops to help the rebels, back up the rebels, but the rebels get the credit as far as I'm concerned, not Omoron......hes just trying to suck up to voters...he knows as well as i do he's not getting re-elected...if he somehow manages to pullit off..i'll find a way to leave this country for good! and speaking of morons, Michael Jackson's Doctor is still on trial...its funny how they said Michael swalloed propofol while the doc was out of the room...we all know he's guilty, he deserves more than a few years in prison and loss of his medical license......yes, Michael was weird, but he had a good heart, thats what matters...and the fact he wanted to help children...unfortunately, his love of children went a bit too far I think..but the pastis in the past......and Lindsey Lohan the moron! she needs to do some hard time...community service is not going to help her, especially when she can afford to keep bailing herself out..stupid broad! I've also given alot of thought about my new TV, the one i'm saving up for that I'll be getting in late November, Early december......Ive decided its going to be the last big "toy" that I buy for the foreseeable future......Ive managed to save a bit of money and am hoping to have a bit left over after the purchase....if all goes well i'll have saved around $1,000.00 to leave about 4 or 5 hundred after purchase..about the only things i would like to purchase in the future is a better ham radio, the new nintendo when it comes out, replacement for whatever devices decide to die, maybe a bluray or 2 once in awhile, maybe a video game or 2 once in awhile......I dont need a new computer or anything...so I hope the future will be kind to me...we'll see when 2013 starts..and of course, the end of the world is not gonna happen..at least in my lifetime..people are starting to get paranoid, and it annoys me to no end......until next time...

Monday...cheer...

It is indeed Monday, once agan.  Not too bad a start to Monday...buts its still early on... had kind of a full weekend..disint have to work, but I had our Radio Clubs annual monthly meeting...9 am Saturday, then after that, I went to lucnh with a couple club members, then we went up to another club members house way up on a hill at the end of,and i use the term very very loosely, a dirt road, and I got to see his outdoor octagonal wet bar, he calls daglaritaville.....then home do do chores and awaitthe arrival of mom and dad from a funeral in tucson...sunday, I finished laundry, and worked on my rewiring project all day, i even ran a speaker wire under the carpet across the doorframe...which unfortunately created a large lump under the carpet in the hallway due to the under carpet padding getting scrunched up and folded oer on itself because of my poking sand prodding with my fish tape...i had to pull up the edge of the carpet to fix the problem.....i still have a wys to go though, ive got most of the loose wires piled behind the tv stand and i still have to hookup all the speakers, plug in the receiver, the cd player, and the compnent video and audio switch boxes...the cd player isnt yet hooked to the receiver, and when i'm done with that, ive got to distribute the wii and gamecube and run those cables, and get the record player setup where the wii and gamecube are now.....and get that hooked to the receiver as well...then after that, i'll rerun the phone line to the directv box and figure out where to mount my phone...sheesh!!! so much to do, so little time! and it better be done by halloween so i can have my yearly horror movie marthon and pile of candybars party!  and ive already bought my candy bars....got them on october 1st......butterfingers, reeses peanut butter cups and mounds..my usual....and i'll get a couple bottle of coke classic the day before halloween......I'm still on schedule, so far, to get my new tv around the end of nevember or early december......cant wait for that, and i'll be getting the new zelda around that time as well!!! alot going on this early holiday season......oh, i also washed my dog yesterday, and ran a bunch of errands...very full sunday.....hopefully quieter next weekend......and hopefully quiet week!......until next time....

Finally,after all this time...sort of...

I'm a little sore today...i finally managed to remove the component case and tv stand from my room, and replace them with a cd bookshelf, and a brand new, assembled myself, entertainment center that houses all my componentsand then some, including my tv...soon to be a bigger new tv...all in one space..mor accurately, 2 entertainment centers stacked on top of each other......and unfortunately, the aforementioned entertainment centers and rahter shallow, so my brnad new, fleshly unboxed receiver sticks out a bit...its ok though, i found a small boarsd that i can stick underneath it that acts as sort of a shelf extender to put under the front edge of the receiver..so no worries..i also had to come up with a door stop of some sort to keep the bedroom door from knocking my pipe rack off its stand everytime the door is opened...i found a small piece of 2 x 4 for that, and painted both boards black so they dont stick out so much...i had to spread out the speakerstands quite a bit to fit the new ent. centers, but they fit nicely...and the subwqoofer even had to move a bit...but now at least i have un-obstructed access to the closet, which will come in handy shortly when i dig out my bins of cd's and nintendo cartridges and cd games etc so they can be put on the cd bookshelf for easier storage and access, and that will in turn, free upmuch needed spacein the closet......but first things first..i have a huge pile of wires on the floor infront of the ent. center that needs to be organized and installed..i've decided to go purely hdmi cables for sound and video, that alleviates all the patch cables i had hooked to the back of the old receiver..freeing up space for all the wires form my wii, gamecube, ps2, and soon, ps3! and when i get my new bigger tv..42" vizio...hopefully the end of november or early december, all my video games should still fit right behind the tv..the wii is wireless controller so no worries about that..the other ones need to be positioned so i can lay down on the bed and play......also i'll be receiving the new zelda, skyward sword in the end of november early december..so my rennovation and acquisition will be complete!!! thats assuming i dont lose my job in the mean time.....my employer has the business for sale and ive decided that if he does sell, i wont be staying on, no matter what is offered.....after over 10 years of dealing with the same merchandise i'm sick and tired of it, and want to move on...maybe start my own business....i dont know yet..we'll see....and as for december 21, 2012... nothings going to happen, it will be a normal, 3 days to xmas type day....and on the 22nd....i'll be telling everyone "I TOLD YA SO!!!!!!" hehe....thats my opinion and i'm sticking to it!!!!!!!!!!!  until next time......

Officially fall, still waiting for officially cold...

Well, its officially fall now...has been for a couple weeks..its, as you can tell..October 2, 2011, my parents celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary yesterday....congrats! as as usual for a sunday, i'm doing laundry, typing my blog, checking facebook etc......and in a couple hours, i'll be heading to my radio clubs radio room at the fire station to do some work..tune ups, ixing echolink etc......a slight change to my sunday routine...and sleaking of changes...Ive been thinking lately..actually for a long time..and i think i've made a decision...seeing as the days, as well as my time, are growing shorter...i think I am going to change my schedule a bit...i am going to try to get up very early, so i can A) eat breakfast for a change, B) walk the dog in the morning in case i cant walk he rin the evening...try to walk her tweice a day is possible.. and C) not have to rush like crazy to get dressed and get off to work...and D) have the time to wet shave every day like ive been hoping to..i'm glad i kept the electric razor for the time being......and all this may halp me E) get to sleep at a decent hour so i can F) remember more of my dreams and hopefully get lucid more often....we'll see how it goes....the first step is to try...... I'm planning, hopefully next week, or i should say, this coming week, to start assembling my cd booksshelf and entertainment center......ive ordered my extra cd magazines, and an extra hdmi cable, which will be arriving tomorrow via UPS, and ive also ordered a new receiver, which will arrive  thursday, also via UPS... so ive got an interesting week ahead... until next time...

this image pretty well sums up how i feel today...not that I', complaining abut it being cool and overcast......i had to fix the washer before starting laundry today, which included almost completelty dissassembling the thing...and ive got to work tomorrow because my employer had surgery and hes still not back onhis feet yet...so i onyl get one day off a week, which means ive got to get my lunadry done inone day, which will take alot longer since i had to spend the morning fixing the goddamn washer!!! at to top it all off, i think my dog and i both have the flu....lovely weekend no? i did manage to have a very lucid dream last night for the first time in awhile..that was nice......and i'm hoping to be able to buy my new receiver in the next couple of weeks, hoping to have enough money to get the receiver, extra mags for ym cd player, and an extra hdmi cable or three and still have a couple hundred in saving to start saving for my new tv which i'm aiming to get in late november..maybe early december....right around the time i get the new zelda!! i'm hoping for perfect timing!!....i guess i should save enough for xmas peresents :P of course, like i said in an earlier blog...change is in the air, and i'm not completely confident i'll still have a job in the next few months...it not a stretch to say i may well start 2012 being unemployed...i hope to have saved enough to get my new tv etc before that happens......they can shut off my cellphone if they want....heh...the next chapter in the trials and tribulations of Rocky....storyof my life......a bad soap opera in the making...lol! on the other hand....i wont be too upset if i lost my job....i have to do alot more than my way less than minimum wage paycheck warrants... so iv e started only working for what he pays me..not really going out of my way, or bending over backwards....not giving a shit either way....and its annoyed my employer no end.....and if he threatens to fire me i'll just sile and say "go right ahead!" hehe thats my story and i'm sticking to it!.....until next time...

Fall is almost here....video games....and change..again?

Fall is in the air...this Friday is the official start of fall! joyous Mabon to you all! there a chill in the air already, especially overnight..bbrrr....getting tired of the heat... someone nearby is barbequeing..maybe the last chance to do so before it gets too cold...looking forward to winter  and the holiday season... its going to be a sad winter for me..I lost my old dog, Sombra a couple months ago and she really really loved the snow...chasing snowballsrompin gin the snow....i'll miss seeing how excited shed get when the snow would start falling each year....sigh.....I, yesterday, pre-ordered the new zelda....skyward sword gold bundle..it somes with a gold wii remote, and a music cd! as you can see in the pic above...i figured once in my life i'll get a limited bundle..never have before..it comes out November 20th..cant wait! ive said it once, and i'll say it again...theres change in the air..it seems to come and go, get stronger get weaker, but its alway hanging there...sometimes i can almost taste it its so strong..sometimes i can barely sense it......right now...its noticeable, fairly noticeable...i dont knwo what may be happening..but it hasnt been there for awhile..nowit back..something is going to happen...and i dont know what...nothing bad i hope......perhaps its because i've almost saved up enough to get my new receiver, new tv, and and extra magazines for my cd changer..and aybe its because i'm going to be building my new entertainment center and cd bookshelf...perhaps thats the change i'm noticing..i dont know.....but for some reason, i just dont like ti this time......theres an ominous feeling in the air..i'll keep you posted.....until next time...

Letting go of the past...finally...

I made a decision today....not really a hard decision,and not really an easy decision...I decide to let go...let go fo something ive held onto from the past thinking it would be like old times, but sadly wasnt the case at all......ive decided to leavethe past in the past and remember fondly, ive decided moving on was better than holding on......i came to the bitter realization that, as much as i wanted it to...some things just never change..as witnessed by todays happenings......but i walk away with head held high, focusing on the future whilst putting the past firmly in the past...remembering fondly, yet not holding onto......I just hopethe future lasts beyond December 21, 2012!! as it happens, there was a big earthquake in India today......seems like signs of things to come..hopefully not, but i'll deal wth it......like the line from the wheel of time series goes "I mean to deal with the world as I find the world, for as long as i can" pretty much sums it up...   justification is no excuse for thievery....until next time......

September 11, 2001, a horrible day in american history...a day I and all americans will never forget... I was working at central arizona college in apache Junction az as a network Admin and computer tech forthe A+ training classes......I was asleep whenthe attacks began, but mom woke me up and todl me someone bombed the pentagon...I kind of figured, at first, someone tried to drive a car bomb or truck bomb through their gate or wherever......until i went into the living room and saw the twin towers burning..mom said at that point, they are using planes...at first i thought we were under military attack by some other countries air force..I wasnt aware at first they were using passenger planes..i had to go to work, but i listened to the events unfolding on the radio all day....it was a very weird scary feeling day all day....especially when i was home that evening and seeing the f-16s patrolling..i never thought i'd ever see that in my lifetime.....when i got to school that evening..it took a while to realize, and i was shocked when i noticed,..there were no planes flying over..the school was in sky harbors flight path..planes flew over very low every couple minutes...all of us standing outside realized the monumental quiet at about the same time..and we all stayed silent......for several minutes..i'll never forget those few minutes......that single day in history showed us the depths of human hatred and cowardice and the heights and power of human heroism all at once......I, and the world...will never forget......

Labor day?!?!?!?! ya right...

Its Labor Day today...and I'm laboring...grumble....holiday my ass! ia had to work sunday..for some odd reason...didnt see a soul....oh well, today, i had to go to several stores to find potatoes, corn on the cob and sald adressing....needless to say..i found no corn...grumble...came home, worked in the garden, picked up dogshit, working on laundry.....waiting for anew couch to supposedly be delivered today......mom and ad are shampooing the living room rug etc......had to drag old couch and chair out of living room......truied to watch star wars marathon on spike this weekend......seen parts of 2 of the 6 films..grumble...ive got potatoes and eggs on the stove boiling away so potato salad can be made later......harvested cucumbers an tomatoes from my gardenfor the dinner salad...my lettuce is taking longer to grow than expected, so i had to buy some......i am thankful however of one thing....this town wasnt nearly as busy as it has been in past years......which means alot fewer idiot in town for a change.......i;'m sure the businesses in town down share my opinion however......until next time...

No one ever seems to celebrate Thursdays..so there you go....heh...I left the water on for my garden over night...i'm not looking forward to that water bill....ouch! not a whole lot to report......i made some progress in my room re-organization recently..i managed to get all the crap out from infront of my TV stand..only to be replaced temporarily by other stuff lol! i got rid of alot of magazines ive been meaning to read from the last 2 years; i only kept the most recent issues...and I'm hoping to make a little more room in the closet for a few extra bins......then i can start assembling my tv stands..oh joy! first things first tho..I decided to get a new receiver first, then save up for a new Tv, i dont think i can save up almost 1000 dollars all at one time! i also have decide to go purely HDMI for all audio and video..that will eliminate a shitload full of rca patch cables....and of course, i will need to re-run the speaker wires for 2 of my speakers when i move all equipment to the new tv stand......as an interesting side note..i managed to rip all mp3's from youtube of dr dementos dementia royale album....ive been compiling as many playlists as i can so i can collect as many dr d mp3's as i can....I still might try to collect all his vinyl as well.....be cool to own a dr d record....i also now own 2 of weird al's cd's and i have one on the way...ive got his self titeld first album and in 3d, and dare to be stupid is on its way....eventually have all his albums...at least until his next one comes out, assuming he gets it out before the world ends...we can only hope!! =) until next time...

Sunday....hmmm...what to do what to do......

Well lets see...finished my daily coffee, had a good breakfast, started laundry, had a good BM..hehe...cleaned the cat litter..yuck....and its only noon!!! weee!!! what will i do with myself the rest of the day? perhaps take it easy..i have to work from 2:30 -4:30 tomorrow...employer has an appointment he just couldnt get any other time...heh......at least i can still sleep in!its miserably hot again today..we had rain yesterday which means its monumentally humid today again....i guess i cant complain too much, people on the east coast are monumentally flooded etc......but i can still complain a little!!! perhaps i'll try to get some more organizing etc done in my room...trying to get to the point i can put together my cd bookshelf and start clearing bins out of the closet to make room for even more bins!!! perhaps i can get all my nintendo etc games out of the cloet as well....i saw a bigger cheaper cd bookslef at big lots the other day..i had no idea they would stock such a thing or i would have looked there first! oh well, gives my the option of getting another bookself is i need one and have room for it..we'll see...ive also decided to get my new receiver first, then save up for the tv........at least i'll have my surround all set up when i get the new tv...hehe and i'm going to got to all hdmi for vidoe and sound instead of, what?, 8 pairs of high end rca cables....make things more streamlinedm and better quality sound as well......i'm looking to get the tv around mid to late november.....its kind of hard to believe this coming thursday is september 1st..sheesh!!!! freakin year flew by once again......i have already made plans for the so-called end of the world by the way.....on december 21 2012, i am going to play weird al's xmas at ground zero all day and through the night...i'm going to play it so it started on the 21st and ends on the 22nd and on the 22nd of december 2012..adfter the world doesnt end..i'm going to have one hellof a party!!!!!!dominoes pizza and rocky horror party!!!!!! woo hoo!!!!!!! and i'm planning to have the most kick ass christmas that year as well.... which will include fireworks!!!!!! but until then...first thing first...new receiver, new tv, and new magazines for my cd player....all before xmas....we'll see......my first goal after the new tv..perhaps even before the new tv is to get my amiga up and running again and towered......towered forst of course! that'll be yet another bin out of the closet......my goal for this weekend, is to get a package out to a friend of mine tomorrow......heres to hoping....until next time....

Just one more thing.....part 2......sheesh.....

olright, i forgot something else i did this weekend! sheesh...i'm minding my lose....sigh..anyway.....i went to the driving range sunday, just to see if my shoulder would let me swing a golfclub..and thankfully, it did, i wasnt even sore today.....good to know.... i plan to play at least 2 rounds or more before the years up.....weather permitting......until next time...

um....just one more thing......

as detective columbo used to say......peter falk..rest in peace brother......i forgot to mention in the last blog entry....i made a change this year..turns out for the good..thankfully, anmd i'll never go back!!! i have returned to the art of my grandfathers......ive returned to the art....of wet shaving.....thats right..i bought a new shaving brush....my old one was nasty...havent touched it in years unfortunately..i bought a new safety razor and a sample pack of double edged blades....and of course i washed the dust out of my old shaving mug and replaced the soap cake....and i couldnt be happier....those fancy schmancy 5 bladed razors, fusions, cant even come close to touching a good double edge safety razor......and never will......i was using an electric, but it turned my neck red everytime i used it..not anymore, and i get a closer shave then ive ever gotten......some i'm never going back!!! i'll keep the electric for emergencies...in case i over sleep....ya know.....but there ya go............there are other changes coming..hopefully before the year is out....i'll keep you posted.....until next time....

Monday, September, Christmas?!?!? and the quest for donuts......

WELL, TODAY IS MONDAY and my folks will be home in a couple hours....with our new kittens!!!!!! cant wait!!!! its gonna be cool to have kitties in the house again......which reminds me, i need to bring in the cat litter pans before they get here or we could have a mess...hehe anyway, i was just thuinking last night, and yesterday......its almost september?!?!?!?! where the F**K did the year go?!?!?!?! sheesh!!!!!!!! of course, i think the same thing every year about this time..time just flies by so quickly these days......i cant believe there only 3 months til xmas....lordy!!!!!! even the dollar stores have their fall stuff out since early august......and a few sprinkles of xmas stuff here and there.....i even noticed one of my neighbors had their christmas lights turned on..of course, they never take em down.. but ive bnoticed a few neighbors have their xmas lights turned on all of a sudden..... ive also noticed the weather seems to be changing a tad...gotten a little more humid and a little cooler......just a little mind you...a degree or 2......oh well, time marches on......the last couple days...ive craved donuts....i went yesterday to the circle k, which usually has a good selection of cream filled ones....they were completely out!!! it looked like someone even swept up the crumbs!!! so i went to subway for a breakfast sandwich....there was a line out the door!!!! made me even more mad...i cvame home and settled for a bowl of raisin bran....grumble.....so this morning, i head over to the circle k again, convinced they got frersh donuts in abundance in this moring..i get ther...out again!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!/ you've got to be kidding me?!?!?!? sheesh!!! so this time i head to the dollar store..needed kitten food anyway! so i settled for 2 six packs of mini powdered donuts.....ive mentioned it before, not necessarily in this blog, but i'll mention it again..i hate this freakin town!!! its amazing what stores up here run out of and when...i even had to dig through the donut packs at the dollar store to find ones that werent out of date yet,....most of them expired august 11.....the ones i finally found were good until september 1...there we go with september again...sheesh......thats another thing i hate about stores in this town..you've got to look at expiration dates, most stuff is out of date and they dont care.....the world is drowning in apathy..i swear......anmd to make matters worse, ive had xmas carols and songs stuck in my head.....grumble.....oh well.......i guess its time for me to start being and old scrooge once again......until next time...

hmmm...August....almost......???

Its august 11th today, and i just realized..the year is more than half over already...where did it go?!?!?! weird...as usual, just like previous years, theyear has flown by with little if anything to show for it....as usual....i was at the dollar store last night and they have their fall stuf out already.......and now ive been thinking about christmas!!! arg!!! or as bill the cat says AAAACCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course, ive been reminiscing about Morgantown wv's past on facebook.....bringing back all kinds ofgreat memories fromthe 4 short years i spent there, 1984-88.....even though i was there for a short time, theres nowhere i'd rather live......i wish i could move back....i guess reminiscing made me think of christmas, and winter etc..sigh......oh well......now i'm depressed thinking ive wasted 11 years of my life in nowheresgaard az......of course..it helps to have money to be able to move elsewhere....double sigh......and they way things are going, this country may very well be in trouble so it may become impossible to relocate in the near future.....triple sigh......ok..now i'm even more depressed.......quadruple sigh......hey! I know!!!!! i'll get rid of everyting i own and walk back to morgantown!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ive thought aboutit many times before!!! i'll become a professional traveler!!!! heh..who am i kidding, i'm so materialistic its not funny...lol!!! oh well, i'll keep morgantown on my mind, and someday i'll get back there, if only to visit......until next time....

Shall we blog? duh dun dun dun....

been awhile since ive blogged, as usual for me......sigh......oh well..lets see, since last blog......i tried to adopt a couple of beagles, one was 3 and one was 6..father and daughter.....they didnt work out unfortunately, the female kept attacking my golden, and drew blood a couple times......and the other one peed everywhere he could reach, so they went back...i'm still looking......i DID find an irish wolfhound rescue in arizona!!!! we shall see....but first, i need to find a couple siamese kittens to butter mom up with......i'm no closer to my 42 inch tv and new receiver than i was last blog.....although, i got notice from a class action i'm involved in the company being sued made an offer and i accepted...should put me right in the neighborhood whenever i get a check......hopefully soon......i finally got my laptop and external 2 terabyte hd set up...the hd has been in its box for about 3 months now..heh...tonight i plan to be up to all hours backing up my system and copying stuff tothe hd..clear off my cluttered hd, and of course, the battery in my laptop seems to have died...grumble....and dell only want 160 bucks for a new one...double grumble.....and i dont know if i mentioned in my last blog, but i lost my old dog, sombra, about 3 weeks ago..she had to be euthanized..she was over 100 in human years, so it was time.......i miss her dearly.....my other, younger dog is now the center of attention.  i may have paid more attention to sombra due to all her ailments in the last few years, so i have alot of making up to do......my poor garden got beat to shit in a massive hailstorm we had a week or so ago..thankfully, the only thing i lost was a green pepper plant.....the only green pepper plant in the garden, but oh well.......i should be harvesting in a few weeks...hopefully......our fourth of july weekend was a bust due to prolonged hot and extremely dry conditions,  the county refused to give the chamber of commerce a fireworks permit, and as a result, they had to send the fireworks back to the factory, not only are they out the 20 grand they spent on the fireworks, but have to pay a restocking fee of some sort to the plae they got them from....and they have to refund all monies taken in for the weekend, possible vendors, VIP parking area etc.....its rumoured the chamber might dissolve......bummer......not that they did a whole lot for the town in the first place, but still.......the parade was abysmal, a fraction of the spectators as previous years, and from what i heard, a fraction of the vendors as previous years....the parade suffers because they wont allow water along the parade route.  in previous years the fire dept would hose people down as they made their way down the route, and people had squirt guns and water balloons.  oh well, i took a bunch of pictures anyway, they are on my flickr page...

if anyone is interested...it was axtremely hot that day and i got sunburned for my efforts..hehe......on the other hand, the no fireworks made it quiet in town for a change, its usually a madhouse here with all the tourists, also, the forests were completely closed..which further halped keep people away...then a rumour went around that the fireworks would be held on labor day, which is untrue i hear....unfortunately, even though fireworks are legal in az now, they were not permitted for the 4th weekend because of the dryness. of course, many of my neighbors ignored the ban......i guess i'll have to wait until there is snow on the ground to use mine..heh......this morning, i went,with a couple members of the local radio club, to forest lakes, a town about 30 mins from here, to do some signal testing, we had very favorable results, were thinking of maybe putting a radio room at the forest lakes fire dept....we proved today that we can get a signal out on several bands...mainly 2 meter......and again, i got sunburned for my trouble..hehe such is life.......lets see..what else? oh! i turned in a resume to radio shack here in town, but never heard back from them......they were thinking of closing it, maybe they did......who knows......ive been getting back in to lucid dreaming lately, or at least trying...ive started writing down my dreams again, and trying to meditate as i go to sleep in order to remember dreams and hopefulyl become lucid.....pretty good results so far.....gives me something to do whiole i'm sleeping =) and ive decided to go back to wet shaving, i'm tired of my electric razor, it just doesnt seem to do as good a job anymore, even with new heads....so i ordered a safety razor and a shaving brush from amazon. I'm going old school baby!!!! hehehehehe thats about all i can think of.....until next time....

It is Monday once again, I'm off today...thankfully...we had a stove repairman out this morning to fix our gas stove..only to find out my Mother cleaned the stove so well she clogged all the gas jets..sheesh....that was 80 bucks well wasted...I dont have too much planned today...finish laundry..perhaps walk down to get the mail..depending on how my knee and hip are feeling...not too mention my foot and ankle...all on the right side of course.....and i thought i was too young for these kind of problems..sheesh....Ive gotten to the age where life stops giving, and starts taking away......Its getting harder to walk any kind of distances, my shoulder my prevent me from playing golf anymore...hopefully next week i'll go to the range and find out....cant hardly throw a ball to the dog anymore...I cant afford a doctor so i have to make due with excederin etc......sigh.....like the song says...life sucks, then you die!!! and boy dont i know it!!! I was kind of hoping to travel someday..if i dont somehow get rich and do it soon, i wont be able to...double sigh.......oh well......not getting anything done bitching and whining about it....not a damn thing i can do about it......venting feels good sometimes......about the only thing i can look forward to is a new bigger tv, 42 incher!, and a new receiver and some point in the very near future...i hope......i guess i should be happy with the small things that i can actually do and receive..i guess......I may not even be able to ride my bike anymore either, come to think about it......i'll find that out very soon as well......triple sigh......until next time.....whers my cane?....

TGIF!...Sort of...

well well, 2 blog entrys in one month....thats a record for me of late...lets see..i got monumentally adventurous last week and bathed and shaved my dog...a very interesting 3 hour adventure...shes cooler now..funny looking, but cooler......my garden is doing well, ive got 4 or 5 little lettuces coming up now..with more o the way...i'll plant seeds every 10 days or so so i have a constant supply of lettuce....we had a fire right outside of tiwn yesterday, maybe 1 or 2 miles from town...it burned our main power lines and poles so we had no power from around 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 am......we had candles all over the house, looked kind of cool =) I'm nearing the end of my monumental room and shed re-organization...ive got to get a few more large shoebox bins and i should be ready to start dissasembling my tv and rack system stands......i'm waiting for a check from a class action settlement ive been involved with sionce mid last year, when i get that i should have enough to get a new reciever and new bigger tv =) 42" vizio and a really nice pioneer receiver...my current receiver has lost its center channel.....not good =) I got elected president of the RCARC this last weekend.,..Rim Country Amateur radio Club, for those not in the know......I hope i can do half as good a job as the previous pres. he accomplished many good things...we'll see...I'm about to finish the 3rd book in the wheel of time series, the dragon reborn, i remember alot of the story from when i read them many years back......we've decided, as you may have read in the last blog, to get another dog and a couple kittens...none of us can live with multiple furball excitement in the house......moms looking for kittens, and i'm looking for a puppy, i'd love to have an irish wolfhound, mom and dad arent to keen on that idea..hehe probably because of their size......mom wants siamese kittens......if i can find her a couple siamese kittens, maybe i can sneak a wolf hound pup into the house..we'll see......nothing to exciting planned for this weekend, laundry, and roasting, roasting as in its going to be hotter than hell and he dont have AC..unfortunately......perhaps i can start emptying the tv stand thhis weekend and get everything hooked up on the new stands in preparation for new tv and receiver..we'll see......until next time...

Still trying...

I'm still trying to do a daily blog, and since my last post was early may...failing miserably....i'll keep trying...lets see, since the last post, i bought the latest 2 books in the wheel of time series, the gathering storm and towers of midnight, both co-authored by Brandon Sanderson, i'm pretty much finished with the shed re-organization, i have the bench all set up as a ham radio bench with my scanner, power supply and signal amp all set up, including a longer cable so my antenna cable reaches all the way to the bench now...also added a lamp to the far left corner, and i even installed a shelf about the left side of the bench for my future on the air light box i'm working on...among other things...ive made alot of progress in my closet as well, ive got almost all the small bins combined into larger bins, and ive still got 5 or 6 larger bins empty and ready to house all the stuff in the base of my old tv stand...i finally bought the cd bookshelf and 2 entertainment centers, which will be stacked on top of each other, the tv stands will be stacked,  not the cd bookshelf...with all my cd's on their own shelf, i'll be able to get rid of 3 or 4 big bins out of the closet to make even more room in there.....I finally got my garden in the ground, it finally warmed up enough to do so, especially at night...i planted lettuce, wich is now finally coming up...doesnt take long according to the seed bag, 2 tomato plants, one green bell pepper, one zucchini, and 1 cucumber....i thought i'd try cucumbers just to see if it will be as prolific as zucchini usually is......Mom had foot surgery a couple weeks back and is recoverign nicely, shes walking with ut the cast and walker now, and is already not needingthe wheelchair anymore, she'll be out dancing again before we know it =) we had some friends up this past weekend for diner and cards lateinto the night...but it was a sad weekend unfortunately...my old dog, Sombra, had to be euthanized(sp?) Monday morning, i kept her as comfortable as possible over the weekend...she was around 15 or so, prettty impressive for a black lab.....I miss her dearly, but at least she is free now...we'll see eachither again some day......I watched the movie black swan last night, what a freakin weird movie that was......good effects i thought......it was ok over all......ive recently started snacking on beef jerky again,i hadnt had any in so long, but the book series i'm reading right now, wheel of time, keeps mentioning dried meat, cheese and bread etc, and it made me hungry..hehe......i'll probably get some good cheese one of these days to nibble as i read......I think I have an idea how i am going to organize my desk to hold several computers, i'm going to put the laptop on the keyboard drawer and the amiga and c64 on the top of the desk and side shelf respectfully.....probably get a fan base to go under the amiga so i dont have a re-wired case cooling fan leaning on the side of the amiga keyboard again...i cant tell you how many tinme ive accidentally stuck my fingers in the blades of that fan...hehe......mom has been wanting a kitten or two since our 2 old cats passed away last year, now, since we only have one dog..at least for now..hehehehehe....dad agreed to help us find a couple kittens..preferably siamese....it'll be nice to have kittis in the house again....i'm sure my golden retriever, Orfhlaith (orla) will be thrilled to death to have a couple little playmates to hang with......other than that, thats about it for now......until next time......

finally! Bin Laden is DEAD, spring weather!

I was talking on my ham radio when i heard the news about bin laden being dead......i was kind of surprised..i figured he was long dead already...oh well......i'm sure alot of people thought that as well, and of course...Obama took credit for the whole thing...bastard......Its finally nice warm, very little wind weather! I swear, the wind and cold lasged longer this year than years past......as a funny aside..i forgot my password for this blog! lol!!! it hasnt been THAT long ince ive loggged on..sheesh!!! i'm still going strong with my shed and room and closet spring cleaning......ive thrown away multitudes of old magazines, that, for the life of me, i cant remember or figure out why ive kept them..ive emptied 4 or 5 big bins of magazines, with severl more to go....i'm also tryting to clean off and organize the benchg in my shed to use as my ham radio bench......so far so good, just need to figure out what to do with my commodore pets! i'm still trying to figure out what to do about my room and closet, ive decided to get an entertainment center that will hold all my components and the tv..so i can get rid of the huge component case, so i can make room for a cd/dvd/bluray floor to ceiling shelf...so i'll have a strait, unblocked path to the closet.....ive alaso picked out a couple towers for my amiga......and i bought an s-video cable for my c64, gonna have a retro computer power room when i'm done....probably going to rearrange my little desk so i can put 3 computers on it..hopefully, and i have the adapter to hook all puters to the tv as well! 26" computer monitor anyone?!?!?!? of course, my lcd tv isnt new enough to have a vga port on it..but oh well..so be it.....such is life....i've also decided to start combinng the massive multitudes of small bins in to larger ones...try to incorporate and compact.,.so to speak......i'll need access to my c64 and amiga software and hardweare, buried in the closet eventually =) ive also started reading Robert Jordans, wheel of time series again..its been too long..and the last book will be out late this year or early next year..so i wanted it all to be fresh in my mind when it does..unfortunately Mr. Jordan passed away before he could write the last couple books, so someone else is finishing his epic...and from what ive heard, hes done a pretty good job......if i hadnt mentioned, and i hadnt..its Friday! i have to work tomorrow, and i'm doing my monthly shopping tomorrow after work tomorrow...i had a pices of cake for breakfast today.....breakfast of champions!!! so its started out to be a prety good day so far...we'll see where it goes from there.....until next time....

easter weekend...

well well, its been a bit since ie posted......this past weekend was easter weekend....and i got to be blissfully alone for a change...i actually got something accomplished....it started out i continued spring cleaning in my shed...its amazing, has this ever happened to any of you? you find acquire something you are convinced you have a use for....only to find it years later and havent a clue as to why you would keep such a thing in the first place..well it seems half of the stuff in my shed falls into that category, so nedless to say, ive thrown out quite a big of crap......like the 5 or 6 boxes of old magazines ive built up over the years......that ive now thrown out...no idea why i decided to keep all of them...i took a break from the shed and got the garden cleaned up and ready for planting season....i havent decided what to plany yet however......i figurd, my allergies were bad enough, thy werent going to get any worse..so i cleaned ou the garden area......on easter sunday, I grilled a ham steak and slathered it with suateed mushrooms...i added yams, sweet corn, and warm crusty rolls....deeelicious if i do say so myself! and i just did!!!! heh...i even squeezed in washng the dog into my busy weekend.....hopefully tonight, after my ham radio net, i'll be able to continue my shed inventorying...i started it last july i think....heh... until next time....

oh dear....oh crumbs....oh bother......

I got a letter from the IRS today....groan!!....But wait...what is this?......they seem to have made a mistake processing my tax return.......?!?!?!?!?!?!......the first letter i got weeks ago stated, i had made a mistake calculating my tax form....its a 1040ez..its not rocket science right? well, the letter i received today stated..without actually stating, i may be owed more money than i just got........!!!!!!!!!!.........apperently my "miscalculation" was an oversight on their part....so i did as i was instructed, and filled out and signed a form and dropped it back in the mail......we'll see, maybe it wont take over three weeks to get a response...ya right!! what am I thinking....its the best news i got all week so far, so i cant complain....well, yes i can complain, but i wont...=P other than that..pretty quiet day, had breakfast with my amateur radio club like we do every week....now...its windy cold and raining...so much for spring eh? I got a movie in the mail from netflicks today..paranormal activity part 1..aughta be pretty interesting.....unti next time......

Sunday strangeness...

Today was a reird day, I was feeling a little under the weather.  I got a headache about mid afternoon today, heard from a buddy of mine, that i was just about to call, I had the phone in my hand heading to his number in my contact list, when the phone rang...weird......I took a nap late this afternoon, and dreamt I worked in a football factory......ev erytime i would finish a football and pick it up..it would deflate in my hands......they alway had a pinhole in thewm somewhere..sounds like the story of my life..hehe......now, checking my facebook and twittter etc..nothing much going on..saw a good movie last night....."howl" about allen ginsberg when he wrote Howl, and the subsequent obsenity trial, which he won of course!!! the movie had quite a bit of homosexual tones and visuals..of course, Allen was homosexual......the animations that went along with his reading of howl were amazing......it was kind of a biography of Allen of a sort....i really liked it, as far as they read the entire poem throughout the movie......all in all a good movie...now, seeing as i'm still about 3 or 4 months behind...i'm going to go read some readers digests......until next time...

saturday evening......

Its Saturday evening right now, and i'm resting after a semi eventful day..it was super windy like it has been for well over a week now...I put up, finally, a new bigger better antenna a ham club friend gave me.  I hope no one else gives me a newer better antenna for awhile, I dont feel like taking that freakin pole down again..hopefully next antenna willbe atop my tower, which currently resides under the house in 4 seactions.....I even did a bit more spring cleaning in the shed today, i threw out abunch of old magazines etc, and broke down some unneeded boxes, the trash bag was so heavy i almsot couldnt lift it!! but thankfully its in the trash bin now...Tomorrow, I will be working on my mountain bike for some of the day, and may a bit more spring cleaning in the shed tomorrow..we'll see how my arm feels tomorrow.....I dont know what I did, but it feels like I massively pulled a muscle in my right arm....its been extremely sore the last week or so, and very stiff......ive had to take aspirin just to get to sleep the last few days....probably wont be able to move it at all tomorrow..oh well!!! and I'll also be finishing laundry tomorrow as well..another full day i guess...until next time...

Thats right, it is once again friday...big deal.....heh......I'm hoping this weekend will be nice enough weather that I can put up my newest antenna, looks like the old one only fiberglass and bigger..and dual band!!! maybe be able to hit a satellite or two!! anyway......I found out today I'm not getting as big a refund as i thought i was getting from the good old IRS...seems I miscalulated a couple lines on my return....i'll check it out when i get home......we'll see......i'm still getting a refund so i guess its not a total loss......Had a nice breakfast with my ham radio club this morning..and finally got my R.A.C.E.S badge!!!!! I'm official!!!  no real plans this weekend..except the aforementioned new intenna installing......but knowing mom, she'll come upwitha  honey-do list......just my luck.....actually......if i do get my antenna up, i may just continue with spring shed cleaning..and hook up a signal amp and power supply a ham friend gave me......so much for the honey-do list!!!!!! and of course..laundry! weekly ritual it seems!!!! and as some of you have notied..ive all of a subben become active to a degree on youtube......its pretty easy to make vids on my droid and upload them....so maybve i'll make more! until next time......

It's officially Spring!! so why is it freakin snowing!!!!!

Yesterday was the official firt day of spring!! and today! its snowing!! typical Overgaard weather..does it every year...why it constantly surprises me I dont know......and of course, the snow was preceded by high winds..up ariound 40 mph......and that of coure means, my allergies are absolutely killing me.....needless to say I've been living on allergy pills the last couple of days...which also means i was laying low so i couldnt get anythnig done this weekend..except laundry of course......I wanted to put up an even better antenna than i have now ont he shed, hok up the signal amp and power supply a friend gave....er sold me......continue spring cleaning in the shed, and the previously aforementioned bedroom closet, amongst other things on my huge to do list......bah! leave it to the weather to screw things up!!! hehe.....until next time......

Spring! and Friday!!!

This Sunday is the forst day of spring! oh joy! and I'm already in the throws of spring and summer planning, getting the garden ready, starting to work on cleaning and organizing the shed, and misc closets...aka spring cleaning! also, i'm hearing early rumoura concerning Jimmy Buffett Summer concerts......maybe i'll look into seeing if I can get a ticket, and become an official parrotheat!! I'm assuming hes recovered from his stage fall several months ago...Ya know Jim..you're getting too old for stage diving! maybe they need to put a giant margarita infront of the stage and he can fall into that!!! thatd be a cool end to the concert!!! I'm hoping I can get the shed in shape enough to use it as my ham shack..at least for the summer..maybe i can get a small heater for the winter..who knows....winter is along way off......I'm also hoping i can get in a few rounds of golf this year..didnt play at all last year...going to make a great effort to play this year..or at least get to the range a few times to get warmed back up......as far as shed and closet cleaning, I'm looking for a TV stand that had a place for all my hme theater components, so i can get rid of the huge component case next to the closet, it makes it hard to get into the closet with it there...as for my turn table, a small table will work just fine......even space under the table for whatever records i feel like bringing in......as soon as i can dig my records out fo the shed that is....Also, i want to clear up space so i can install a cd/dvd/bluray floor to ceiling case on the wall next to the closet so i can get all the boxes of dvd's and cd's out of the closet to make room......ive got boxes and boxes of old magazines i cant figure out why i kept....seeing as i can now get all of them on a dvd, or online......its amazing what you found useful and didnt want to get rid of last year, you cant figure out why you still have it this year, or what purpose it originally served..and of course, next year after youve thrown it away you'll wish you still had it!!!!! AINT THAT THE TRUTH!!! and of course, i forgot the most important annual weekend activity! LAUNDRY of course!!!!! ive also got tons and tons of tools and nuts and bolts and washers etc scattered all over the shed i need to get organized...Ya, I know, i promise to get organized every year, and end up getting even more cluttered, but this year feels different...strangely....do you all remember when i was saying, i feel change in the air..a very subtle feeling that was getting stronger all the time..but stayed barely perceptible? well, that feeling is back, it went away for awhile, now its back, now that ive started the early organizing and summer planning, that very subtle feeling is here again, barely noticible, change is in the air......weird, i hadnt felt that for so long i amsot didnt recognize it..of course, it may have been there the whole time i just hadnt payed attention, but its a tad stronger than it used to be...so we'll see what happens......channge is a fickle beast, it can be almost undetectable...or it can crash in on you without mercy........I also want to get my Mountain bike in shape so i can do some serious riding this year..i'll probably have only one day off a week over the summer, so i'll have to make the best of it...i found a new saddle for it online..REI has some really good prices, so i'm going to order it this weekend, and i'm still shopping for new pedals......I hope i can handle some intense rides, i'm hurtung all the time now, perhaps arthritis, but hopefully i can get to feeling better with exercise, lord knows, i dont get any now :P   I'm also looking forward to the 4th of July seeing as fireworks are legal in Az now!!! and we even have a fireworks store in Snowflake now!! and  Black Cat store at that!!! best fireworks made IMHO well, this has been a long winded post, ive got to blog more regularly so they dont have to be so long winded.....until next time...... 

My First Geocache!!!

As you all have probably gathered by the title of this blog..i found my first geocache!! oh joy! oh Rapture! hehe, it was an easy one, it was under a fake rock infront of a carved bear......now i'm stoked to start looking for more..gotta get my gps updated and fresh batteries installed so i can go looking for more......hopefully even hide one myself this summer..ya never know =) well, ive had an eventful weekend so far, helped a couple radio club friends take down an antenna, and even put one up myself! on the shedm where the old and nbow useless tv arial used to be...seems to be working, but i'll test further in the next few days to confirm.....today, finish laundry, maybe start spring cleaning in my shed and room...who knows..i think i might have a nasty cold/flu, so we'll see how bad i feel later......i still have to untangle and roll up the guy wires i picked up yesterday and store them somewhere....but first things first, its lunch time, and not sure what i am gonna have...as bad as i feel right now, this may be a down day...who knows....until next time...

gees..that long?!?!?!?!?!

its been quite awhile since i posted, sorry once again...lets see, this morning, around 10 am, i helped a couple of amateur radio friends move some antennas etc. i even scored some guy wires for my tower that will go up someday.....Its extremely nice weather today, so I'm going to put up a 2 meter antenna on my shed finally, keep procrastinating, but i'll get it done today finally, and who knows what else i'll do this weekend, was thinking about cleaning up my garden a bit, maybe tomorrow, of course weekly laundry......um....pretty uneventful work week, thankfully...I woke up with a massive headache yesterday morning that lasted all day.....I was afraid i was coming down with something, but i feel pretty ok today...again thankfully...right now, its 12:29 pm, aka lunch o'clock, and iu feel like having tuna...also, when i finally get the antenna out of my shed and onto a pole(its huge btw, barely fits through the door) I am going to go on a massive cleaning, rearranging, and inventorying(sp?) frenzy, my room and closet as well, too much crap and not enough storage space..sheesh..maybe i'll check into a storage space locally, way my luck goes, theyll go out of business and i'll lose access..hehe...... and I am going to make an effort, a great effort, to go geocaching this summer, also, play a few rounds of golf etc, and not let it matter that i will be working weekends, well, saturdays at least...well, without further adieu...until next time...

Today, of course, is saturday...and its also my 40th birthday...................thank you.......................and I'm doing my usual saturday routine..sort of....nothing....i'm doing laundry, as usual.  I had an amateur radio club meeting this morning..every third saturday......then we went to lunch...and now i'm home blogging, and doing the aforementioned laundry.....whoopie...going to to out to dinner with my folks a little later......other than that..i oprefer my birthdays quiet..just like all weekends and days off.....its been pouring rain all day, and promises to pour rain all day tomorrow as well..and maybe even snow tonight..oh goody....:\..........i did manage to get to ace hardware today and pickup a fish tape..been wanting one for quite some time..and i hald a 50% off coupon..cant beat that =) in case anyone out there doesnt know what a fish tape is..its a rolled up flat steel wire on a plastic reel with a handle..its used for running wires through walls and ceilings etc...in my case under the house for long distances....tonight, i am goping to get my external hd up and running, and start backing up my laptop hd..its packed full.......until next time...

i know i know..sheesh! quit yelling!! just kidding, i now its been awhile since ive done a blog..so here you are..quit whining! heh, last blog was december 18th 2010......lets see, i had a typical christmas, mom and i inadvertantly invented a new kind of cookie......new years was peretty much the same as well, watched the ball drop at home as usual.....drank a bottle of good champaigne and crashed..uneventful january, my birthday is next saturday, the 19th, no biggie...only my big 4-0! and ive got the grey hairs to prove it..my goatee is turning grey, and ive got alot of greys on my head as well..i'm and old man ;P  my old buddy in west virginia sent me a kick ass package not too long ago...he spoiled me with all the dvds etc he sent me....and i sent him one in return....a small kick ass package! other than that.....nothing much....i'll make surei keep this blog updated from now on..been depressed and not caring for the last month or so..no biggie....until next time...
