TGIF..whatever....

Thats right, it is once again friday...big deal.....heh......I'm hoping this weekend will be nice enough weather that I can put up my newest antenna, looks like the old one only fiberglass and bigger..and dual band!!! maybe be able to hit a satellite or two!! anyway......I found out today I'm not getting as big a refund as i thought i was getting from the good old IRS...seems I miscalulated a couple lines on my return....i'll check it out when i get home......we'll see......i'm still getting a refund so i guess its not a total loss......Had a nice breakfast with my ham radio club this morning..and finally got my R.A.C.E.S badge!!!!! I'm official!!!  no real plans this weekend..except the aforementioned new intenna installing......but knowing mom, she'll come upwitha  honey-do list......just my luck.....actually......if i do get my antenna up, i may just continue with spring shed cleaning..and hook up a signal amp and power supply a ham friend gave me......so much for the honey-do list!!!!!! and of course..laundry! weekly ritual it seems!!!! and as some of you have notied..ive all of a subben become active to a degree on youtube......its pretty easy to make vids on my droid and upload them....so maybve i'll make more! until next time......

It's officially Spring!! so why is it freakin snowing!!!!!

Yesterday was the official firt day of spring!! and today! its snowing!! typical Overgaard weather..does it every year...why it constantly surprises me I dont know......and of course, the snow was preceded by high winds..up ariound 40 mph......and that of coure means, my allergies are absolutely killing me.....needless to say I've been living on allergy pills the last couple of days...which also means i was laying low so i couldnt get anythnig done this weekend..except laundry of course......I wanted to put up an even better antenna than i have now ont he shed, hok up the signal amp and power supply a friend gave....er sold me......continue spring cleaning in the shed, and the previously aforementioned bedroom closet, amongst other things on my huge to do list......bah! leave it to the weather to screw things up!!! hehe.....until next time......

Spring! and Friday!!!

This Sunday is the forst day of spring! oh joy! and I'm already in the throws of spring and summer planning, getting the garden ready, starting to work on cleaning and organizing the shed, and misc closets...aka spring cleaning! also, i'm hearing early rumoura concerning Jimmy Buffett Summer concerts......maybe i'll look into seeing if I can get a ticket, and become an official parrotheat!! I'm assuming hes recovered from his stage fall several months ago...Ya know Jim..you're getting too old for stage diving! maybe they need to put a giant margarita infront of the stage and he can fall into that!!! thatd be a cool end to the concert!!! I'm hoping I can get the shed in shape enough to use it as my ham shack..at least for the summer..maybe i can get a small heater for the winter..who knows....winter is along way off......I'm also hoping i can get in a few rounds of golf this year..didnt play at all last year...going to make a great effort to play this year..or at least get to the range a few times to get warmed back up......as far as shed and closet cleaning, I'm looking for a TV stand that had a place for all my hme theater components, so i can get rid of the huge component case next to the closet, it makes it hard to get into the closet with it there...as for my turn table, a small table will work just fine......even space under the table for whatever records i feel like bringing in......as soon as i can dig my records out fo the shed that is....Also, i want to clear up space so i can install a cd/dvd/bluray floor to ceiling case on the wall next to the closet so i can get all the boxes of dvd's and cd's out of the closet to make room......ive got boxes and boxes of old magazines i cant figure out why i kept....seeing as i can now get all of them on a dvd, or online......its amazing what you found useful and didnt want to get rid of last year, you cant figure out why you still have it this year, or what purpose it originally served..and of course, next year after youve thrown it away you'll wish you still had it!!!!! AINT THAT THE TRUTH!!! and of course, i forgot the most important annual weekend activity! LAUNDRY of course!!!!! ive also got tons and tons of tools and nuts and bolts and washers etc scattered all over the shed i need to get organized...Ya, I know, i promise to get organized every year, and end up getting even more cluttered, but this year feels different...strangely....do you all remember when i was saying, i feel change in the air..a very subtle feeling that was getting stronger all the time..but stayed barely perceptible? well, that feeling is back, it went away for awhile, now its back, now that ive started the early organizing and summer planning, that very subtle feeling is here again, barely noticible, change is in the air......weird, i hadnt felt that for so long i amsot didnt recognize it..of course, it may have been there the whole time i just hadnt payed attention, but its a tad stronger than it used to be...so we'll see what happens......channge is a fickle beast, it can be almost undetectable...or it can crash in on you without mercy........I also want to get my Mountain bike in shape so i can do some serious riding this year..i'll probably have only one day off a week over the summer, so i'll have to make the best of it...i found a new saddle for it online..REI has some really good prices, so i'm going to order it this weekend, and i'm still shopping for new pedals......I hope i can handle some intense rides, i'm hurtung all the time now, perhaps arthritis, but hopefully i can get to feeling better with exercise, lord knows, i dont get any now :P   I'm also looking forward to the 4th of July seeing as fireworks are legal in Az now!!! and we even have a fireworks store in Snowflake now!! and  Black Cat store at that!!! best fireworks made IMHO well, this has been a long winded post, ive got to blog more regularly so they dont have to be so long winded.....until next time...... 

My First Geocache!!!

As you all have probably gathered by the title of this blog..i found my first geocache!! oh joy! oh Rapture! hehe, it was an easy one, it was under a fake rock infront of a carved bear......now i'm stoked to start looking for more..gotta get my gps updated and fresh batteries installed so i can go looking for more......hopefully even hide one myself this summer..ya never know =) well, ive had an eventful weekend so far, helped a couple radio club friends take down an antenna, and even put one up myself! on the shedm where the old and nbow useless tv arial used to be...seems to be working, but i'll test further in the next few days to confirm.....today, finish laundry, maybe start spring cleaning in my shed and room...who knows..i think i might have a nasty cold/flu, so we'll see how bad i feel later......i still have to untangle and roll up the guy wires i picked up yesterday and store them somewhere....but first things first, its lunch time, and not sure what i am gonna have...as bad as i feel right now, this may be a down day...who knows....until next time...

gees..that long?!?!?!?!?!

its been quite awhile since i posted, sorry once again...lets see, this morning, around 10 am, i helped a couple of amateur radio friends move some antennas etc. i even scored some guy wires for my tower that will go up someday.....Its extremely nice weather today, so I'm going to put up a 2 meter antenna on my shed finally, keep procrastinating, but i'll get it done today finally, and who knows what else i'll do this weekend, was thinking about cleaning up my garden a bit, maybe tomorrow, of course weekly laundry......um....pretty uneventful work week, thankfully...I woke up with a massive headache yesterday morning that lasted all day.....I was afraid i was coming down with something, but i feel pretty ok today...again thankfully...right now, its 12:29 pm, aka lunch o'clock, and iu feel like having tuna...also, when i finally get the antenna out of my shed and onto a pole(its huge btw, barely fits through the door) I am going to go on a massive cleaning, rearranging, and inventorying(sp?) frenzy, my room and closet as well, too much crap and not enough storage space..sheesh..maybe i'll check into a storage space locally, way my luck goes, theyll go out of business and i'll lose access..hehe...... and I am going to make an effort, a great effort, to go geocaching this summer, also, play a few rounds of golf etc, and not let it matter that i will be working weekends, well, saturdays at least...well, without further adieu...until next time...

Today, of course, is saturday...and its also my 40th birthday...................thank you.......................and I'm doing my usual saturday routine..sort of....nothing....i'm doing laundry, as usual.  I had an amateur radio club meeting this morning..every third saturday......then we went to lunch...and now i'm home blogging, and doing the aforementioned laundry.....whoopie...going to to out to dinner with my folks a little later......other than that..i oprefer my birthdays quiet..just like all weekends and days off.....its been pouring rain all day, and promises to pour rain all day tomorrow as well..and maybe even snow tonight..oh goody....:\..........i did manage to get to ace hardware today and pickup a fish tape..been wanting one for quite some time..and i hald a 50% off coupon..cant beat that =) in case anyone out there doesnt know what a fish tape is..its a rolled up flat steel wire on a plastic reel with a handle..its used for running wires through walls and ceilings etc...in my case under the house for long distances....tonight, i am goping to get my external hd up and running, and start backing up my laptop hd..its packed full.......until next time...

i know i know..sheesh! quit yelling!! just kidding, i now its been awhile since ive done a blog..so here you are..quit whining! heh, last blog was december 18th 2010......lets see, i had a typical christmas, mom and i inadvertantly invented a new kind of cookie......new years was peretty much the same as well, watched the ball drop at home as usual.....drank a bottle of good champaigne and crashed..uneventful january, my birthday is next saturday, the 19th, no biggie...only my big 4-0! and ive got the grey hairs to prove it..my goatee is turning grey, and ive got alot of greys on my head as well..i'm and old man ;P  my old buddy in west virginia sent me a kick ass package not too long ago...he spoiled me with all the dvds etc he sent me....and i sent him one in return....a small kick ass package! other than that.....nothing much....i'll make surei keep this blog updated from now on..been depressed and not caring for the last month or so..no biggie....until next time...
