Monday, September, Christmas?!?!? and the quest for donuts......

WELL, TODAY IS MONDAY and my folks will be home in a couple hours....with our new kittens!!!!!! cant wait!!!! its gonna be cool to have kitties in the house again......which reminds me, i need to bring in the cat litter pans before they get here or we could have a mess...hehe anyway, i was just thuinking last night, and yesterday......its almost september?!?!?!?! where the F**K did the year go?!?!?!?! sheesh!!!!!!!! of course, i think the same thing every year about this time..time just flies by so quickly these days......i cant believe there only 3 months til xmas....lordy!!!!!! even the dollar stores have their fall stuff out since early august......and a few sprinkles of xmas stuff here and there.....i even noticed one of my neighbors had their christmas lights turned on..of course, they never take em down.. but ive bnoticed a few neighbors have their xmas lights turned on all of a sudden..... ive also noticed the weather seems to be changing a tad...gotten a little more humid and a little cooler......just a little mind you...a degree or 2......oh well, time marches on......the last couple days...ive craved donuts....i went yesterday to the circle k, which usually has a good selection of cream filled ones....they were completely out!!! it looked like someone even swept up the crumbs!!! so i went to subway for a breakfast sandwich....there was a line out the door!!!! made me even more mad...i cvame home and settled for a bowl of raisin bran....grumble.....so this morning, i head over to the circle k again, convinced they got frersh donuts in abundance in this moring..i get ther...out again!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!/ you've got to be kidding me?!?!?!? sheesh!!! so this time i head to the dollar store..needed kitten food anyway! so i settled for 2 six packs of mini powdered donuts.....ive mentioned it before, not necessarily in this blog, but i'll mention it again..i hate this freakin town!!! its amazing what stores up here run out of and when...i even had to dig through the donut packs at the dollar store to find ones that werent out of date yet,....most of them expired august 11.....the ones i finally found were good until september 1...there we go with september again...sheesh......thats another thing i hate about stores in this town..you've got to look at expiration dates, most stuff is out of date and they dont care.....the world is drowning in apathy..i swear......anmd to make matters worse, ive had xmas carols and songs stuck in my head.....grumble.....oh well.......i guess its time for me to start being and old scrooge once again......until next time...

hmmm...August....almost......???

Its august 11th today, and i just realized..the year is more than half over already...where did it go?!?!?! weird...as usual, just like previous years, theyear has flown by with little if anything to show for it....as usual....i was at the dollar store last night and they have their fall stuf out already.......and now ive been thinking about christmas!!! arg!!! or as bill the cat says AAAACCCKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course, ive been reminiscing about Morgantown wv's past on facebook.....bringing back all kinds ofgreat memories fromthe 4 short years i spent there, 1984-88.....even though i was there for a short time, theres nowhere i'd rather live......i wish i could move back....i guess reminiscing made me think of christmas, and winter etc..sigh......oh well......now i'm depressed thinking ive wasted 11 years of my life in nowheresgaard az......of course..it helps to have money to be able to move elsewhere....double sigh......and they way things are going, this country may very well be in trouble so it may become impossible to relocate in the near future.....triple sigh......ok..now i'm even more depressed.......quadruple sigh......hey! I know!!!!! i'll get rid of everyting i own and walk back to morgantown!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ive thought aboutit many times before!!! i'll become a professional traveler!!!! heh..who am i kidding, i'm so materialistic its not funny...lol!!! oh well, i'll keep morgantown on my mind, and someday i'll get back there, if only to visit......until next time....

Shall we blog? duh dun dun dun....

been awhile since ive blogged, as usual for me......sigh......oh well..lets see, since last blog......i tried to adopt a couple of beagles, one was 3 and one was 6..father and daughter.....they didnt work out unfortunately, the female kept attacking my golden, and drew blood a couple times......and the other one peed everywhere he could reach, so they went back...i'm still looking......i DID find an irish wolfhound rescue in arizona!!!! we shall see....but first, i need to find a couple siamese kittens to butter mom up with......i'm no closer to my 42 inch tv and new receiver than i was last blog.....although, i got notice from a class action i'm involved in the company being sued made an offer and i accepted...should put me right in the neighborhood whenever i get a check......hopefully soon......i finally got my laptop and external 2 terabyte hd set up...the hd has been in its box for about 3 months now..heh...tonight i plan to be up to all hours backing up my system and copying stuff tothe hd..clear off my cluttered hd, and of course, the battery in my laptop seems to have died...grumble....and dell only want 160 bucks for a new one...double grumble.....and i dont know if i mentioned in my last blog, but i lost my old dog, sombra, about 3 weeks ago..she had to be euthanized..she was over 100 in human years, so it was time.......i miss her dearly.....my other, younger dog is now the center of attention.  i may have paid more attention to sombra due to all her ailments in the last few years, so i have alot of making up to do......my poor garden got beat to shit in a massive hailstorm we had a week or so ago..thankfully, the only thing i lost was a green pepper plant.....the only green pepper plant in the garden, but oh well.......i should be harvesting in a few weeks...hopefully......our fourth of july weekend was a bust due to prolonged hot and extremely dry conditions,  the county refused to give the chamber of commerce a fireworks permit, and as a result, they had to send the fireworks back to the factory, not only are they out the 20 grand they spent on the fireworks, but have to pay a restocking fee of some sort to the plae they got them from....and they have to refund all monies taken in for the weekend, possible vendors, VIP parking area etc.....its rumoured the chamber might dissolve......bummer......not that they did a whole lot for the town in the first place, but still.......the parade was abysmal, a fraction of the spectators as previous years, and from what i heard, a fraction of the vendors as previous years....the parade suffers because they wont allow water along the parade route.  in previous years the fire dept would hose people down as they made their way down the route, and people had squirt guns and water balloons.  oh well, i took a bunch of pictures anyway, they are on my flickr page...

if anyone is interested...it was axtremely hot that day and i got sunburned for my efforts..hehe......on the other hand, the no fireworks made it quiet in town for a change, its usually a madhouse here with all the tourists, also, the forests were completely closed..which further halped keep people away...then a rumour went around that the fireworks would be held on labor day, which is untrue i hear....unfortunately, even though fireworks are legal in az now, they were not permitted for the 4th weekend because of the dryness. of course, many of my neighbors ignored the ban......i guess i'll have to wait until there is snow on the ground to use mine..heh......this morning, i went,with a couple members of the local radio club, to forest lakes, a town about 30 mins from here, to do some signal testing, we had very favorable results, were thinking of maybe putting a radio room at the forest lakes fire dept....we proved today that we can get a signal out on several bands...mainly 2 meter......and again, i got sunburned for my trouble..hehe such is life.......lets see..what else? oh! i turned in a resume to radio shack here in town, but never heard back from them......they were thinking of closing it, maybe they did......who knows......ive been getting back in to lucid dreaming lately, or at least trying...ive started writing down my dreams again, and trying to meditate as i go to sleep in order to remember dreams and hopefulyl become lucid.....pretty good results so far.....gives me something to do whiole i'm sleeping =) and ive decided to go back to wet shaving, i'm tired of my electric razor, it just doesnt seem to do as good a job anymore, even with new heads....so i ordered a safety razor and a shaving brush from amazon. I'm going old school baby!!!! hehehehehe thats about all i can think of.....until next time....

It is Monday once again, I'm off today...thankfully...we had a stove repairman out this morning to fix our gas stove..only to find out my Mother cleaned the stove so well she clogged all the gas jets..sheesh....that was 80 bucks well wasted...I dont have too much planned today...finish laundry..perhaps walk down to get the mail..depending on how my knee and hip are feeling...not too mention my foot and ankle...all on the right side of course.....and i thought i was too young for these kind of problems..sheesh....Ive gotten to the age where life stops giving, and starts taking away......Its getting harder to walk any kind of distances, my shoulder my prevent me from playing golf anymore...hopefully next week i'll go to the range and find out....cant hardly throw a ball to the dog anymore...I cant afford a doctor so i have to make due with excederin etc......sigh.....like the song says...life sucks, then you die!!! and boy dont i know it!!! I was kind of hoping to travel someday..if i dont somehow get rich and do it soon, i wont be able to...double sigh.......oh well......not getting anything done bitching and whining about it....not a damn thing i can do about it......venting feels good sometimes......about the only thing i can look forward to is a new bigger tv, 42 incher!, and a new receiver and some point in the very near future...i hope......i guess i should be happy with the small things that i can actually do and receive..i guess......I may not even be able to ride my bike anymore either, come to think about it......i'll find that out very soon as well......triple sigh......until next time.....whers my cane?....

TGIF!...Sort of...

well well, 2 blog entrys in one month....thats a record for me of late...lets see..i got monumentally adventurous last week and bathed and shaved my dog...a very interesting 3 hour adventure...shes cooler now..funny looking, but cooler......my garden is doing well, ive got 4 or 5 little lettuces coming up now..with more o the way...i'll plant seeds every 10 days or so so i have a constant supply of lettuce....we had a fire right outside of tiwn yesterday, maybe 1 or 2 miles from town...it burned our main power lines and poles so we had no power from around 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 am......we had candles all over the house, looked kind of cool =) I'm nearing the end of my monumental room and shed re-organization...ive got to get a few more large shoebox bins and i should be ready to start dissasembling my tv and rack system stands......i'm waiting for a check from a class action settlement ive been involved with sionce mid last year, when i get that i should have enough to get a new reciever and new bigger tv =) 42" vizio and a really nice pioneer receiver...my current receiver has lost its center channel.....not good =) I got elected president of the RCARC this last weekend.,..Rim Country Amateur radio Club, for those not in the know......I hope i can do half as good a job as the previous pres. he accomplished many good things...we'll see...I'm about to finish the 3rd book in the wheel of time series, the dragon reborn, i remember alot of the story from when i read them many years back......we've decided, as you may have read in the last blog, to get another dog and a couple kittens...none of us can live with multiple furball excitement in the house......moms looking for kittens, and i'm looking for a puppy, i'd love to have an irish wolfhound, mom and dad arent to keen on that idea..hehe probably because of their size......mom wants siamese kittens......if i can find her a couple siamese kittens, maybe i can sneak a wolf hound pup into the house..we'll see......nothing to exciting planned for this weekend, laundry, and roasting, roasting as in its going to be hotter than hell and he dont have AC..unfortunately......perhaps i can start emptying the tv stand thhis weekend and get everything hooked up on the new stands in preparation for new tv and receiver..we'll see......until next time...

Still trying...

I'm still trying to do a daily blog, and since my last post was early may...failing miserably....i'll keep trying...lets see, since the last post, i bought the latest 2 books in the wheel of time series, the gathering storm and towers of midnight, both co-authored by Brandon Sanderson, i'm pretty much finished with the shed re-organization, i have the bench all set up as a ham radio bench with my scanner, power supply and signal amp all set up, including a longer cable so my antenna cable reaches all the way to the bench now...also added a lamp to the far left corner, and i even installed a shelf about the left side of the bench for my future on the air light box i'm working on...among other things...ive made alot of progress in my closet as well, ive got almost all the small bins combined into larger bins, and ive still got 5 or 6 larger bins empty and ready to house all the stuff in the base of my old tv stand...i finally bought the cd bookshelf and 2 entertainment centers, which will be stacked on top of each other, the tv stands will be stacked,  not the cd bookshelf...with all my cd's on their own shelf, i'll be able to get rid of 3 or 4 big bins out of the closet to make even more room in there.....I finally got my garden in the ground, it finally warmed up enough to do so, especially at night...i planted lettuce, wich is now finally coming up...doesnt take long according to the seed bag, 2 tomato plants, one green bell pepper, one zucchini, and 1 cucumber....i thought i'd try cucumbers just to see if it will be as prolific as zucchini usually is......Mom had foot surgery a couple weeks back and is recoverign nicely, shes walking with ut the cast and walker now, and is already not needingthe wheelchair anymore, she'll be out dancing again before we know it =) we had some friends up this past weekend for diner and cards lateinto the night...but it was a sad weekend unfortunately...my old dog, Sombra, had to be euthanized(sp?) Monday morning, i kept her as comfortable as possible over the weekend...she was around 15 or so, prettty impressive for a black lab.....I miss her dearly, but at least she is free now...we'll see eachither again some day......I watched the movie black swan last night, what a freakin weird movie that was......good effects i thought......it was ok over all......ive recently started snacking on beef jerky again,i hadnt had any in so long, but the book series i'm reading right now, wheel of time, keeps mentioning dried meat, cheese and bread etc, and it made me hungry..hehe......i'll probably get some good cheese one of these days to nibble as i read......I think I have an idea how i am going to organize my desk to hold several computers, i'm going to put the laptop on the keyboard drawer and the amiga and c64 on the top of the desk and side shelf respectfully.....probably get a fan base to go under the amiga so i dont have a re-wired case cooling fan leaning on the side of the amiga keyboard again...i cant tell you how many tinme ive accidentally stuck my fingers in the blades of that fan...hehe......mom has been wanting a kitten or two since our 2 old cats passed away last year, now, since we only have one dog..at least for now..hehehehehe....dad agreed to help us find a couple kittens..preferably siamese....it'll be nice to have kittis in the house again....i'm sure my golden retriever, Orfhlaith (orla) will be thrilled to death to have a couple little playmates to hang with......other than that, thats about it for now......until next time......

finally! Bin Laden is DEAD, spring weather!

I was talking on my ham radio when i heard the news about bin laden being dead......i was kind of surprised..i figured he was long dead already...oh well......i'm sure alot of people thought that as well, and of course...Obama took credit for the whole thing...bastard......Its finally nice warm, very little wind weather! I swear, the wind and cold lasged longer this year than years past......as a funny aside..i forgot my password for this blog! lol!!! it hasnt been THAT long ince ive loggged on..sheesh!!! i'm still going strong with my shed and room and closet spring cleaning......ive thrown away multitudes of old magazines, that, for the life of me, i cant remember or figure out why ive kept them..ive emptied 4 or 5 big bins of magazines, with severl more to go....i'm also tryting to clean off and organize the benchg in my shed to use as my ham radio bench......so far so good, just need to figure out what to do with my commodore pets! i'm still trying to figure out what to do about my room and closet, ive decided to get an entertainment center that will hold all my components and the tv..so i can get rid of the huge component case, so i can make room for a cd/dvd/bluray floor to ceiling shelf...so i'll have a strait, unblocked path to the closet.....ive alaso picked out a couple towers for my amiga......and i bought an s-video cable for my c64, gonna have a retro computer power room when i'm done....probably going to rearrange my little desk so i can put 3 computers on it..hopefully, and i have the adapter to hook all puters to the tv as well! 26" computer monitor anyone?!?!?!? of course, my lcd tv isnt new enough to have a vga port on it..but oh well..so be it.....such is life....i've also decided to start combinng the massive multitudes of small bins in to larger ones...try to incorporate and compact.,.so to speak......i'll need access to my c64 and amiga software and hardweare, buried in the closet eventually =) ive also started reading Robert Jordans, wheel of time series again..its been too long..and the last book will be out late this year or early next year..so i wanted it all to be fresh in my mind when it does..unfortunately Mr. Jordan passed away before he could write the last couple books, so someone else is finishing his epic...and from what ive heard, hes done a pretty good job......if i hadnt mentioned, and i hadnt..its Friday! i have to work tomorrow, and i'm doing my monthly shopping tomorrow after work tomorrow...i had a pices of cake for breakfast today.....breakfast of champions!!! so its started out to be a prety good day so far...we'll see where it goes from there.....until next time....
