Happy Birthday West Virginia!!!!

First of all I would like to wish a very happy 149th birthday to west Virginia today!!!!!
Oh how I miss Morgantown!!! if its the last thing I do, I'm going to live in Morgantown again....and I wont leave unless I'm carried out feet first!!!!!!

There, I feel better now =)  onward and upward......I know its been awhile since ive updated this blog, my life isnt exciting enugh for a daily blog, yet, but i'm working on it...its frakin hot today...has been for some timenow, and will be for some time now.....and speaking of today, today is also the first day of summer! the Summer Equinox!  Blessed be! all you pagans, wiccans etc out there!!!!!! I plan to burn some incense to honor my ancestors goddess and god tonight!!! lets see....ive actually gone jogging once.....once...not being lazy, just very little time......busy at home and working all day to boot..... work is going as well as can be expected.....mom and dads health isnt great, and probably wont be improving...i'm trying to come to grips with that fact......my sister is having shoulder surgery this morning, i havent heard anything yet......earlier this month, late last month my poor dog had miserable allergies, we tried prednisone and special food..it didnt seem to help, i put her back on benadryl and her normal food and she seems to be doing better, next i'm going to try a higher grade food and see what happens......my allergies have been killing me as well lately, because of all the smoke from the fire about 25 or so miles fromhere..the smoke has been blowing through town......and speaking of smoke....ive decided to start smoking cigars again......I still enjoy my pipe, but a friend of mine has gotten into cigars and managed to talk em into it..so i have one about once a week....Ive really missed em! cant afford them too often, but its a nice treat to spoil myelf with one in awhile......I was of work ysterday, so onthe spur of the moment, i decided to take the next step in my monumental closet re-organization.....i brought all the bins that were in the very back and bottom of the closet, to the front of the closet, and all the bins ive already inventoried, to the back......wasnt easy..i even had a monumental collapse of bins whilei was trapped in the closet, but thankfully no damage......i couldnt believe how bad i sweated!! speaking of which, i got my air conditoner in the window finally....its a weird ac, it has no drain holes or anything for the condensation to drip out of..so i drilled my own =) i put 3 holes along the rear bottom of the thing..so when i put the thing away later in the year, i wont have grean slimy water like i did last time..and it would gurgle as it ran....strange.......oh, ands some sad news to report...sniff...my old trusty vcr finally died...not my oldest one mind you, the newer of the two......i stuck a tape, excuse me, tried to stick a tape in it the other evening and it got jammed, it kept trying to eject or play the tape and kept grinding it backand forth, i pushed the eject buttona nd ended up breaking it......i had to reachj inside the thing with one finger and push the litttle button way down on the circuit board...i finally got the tape out...maybe i can refurbish my older  vcr, but the newer one is a gonner....ive got alot of great memories with that vcr....such is life i guess......so now, i'm saving up to get a vcr/dvd burner combo so i can digitaze some of my videos...which is why i'm rearranging the closet, ive decided its time to get rid of my videotapes..especially the original movie tapes..so going to just toss emin the the trash, truth be told, i dont think anyone would want them anyway....and ive replaced many of them with dvd's anywho..so i should be able to get rid of 4 or 5 bins that way....with will lead to the main reason, i just came up with the other day, for rearranging my closet...i want to put a skinny 12" wide bookcase inside the closet door to hold all my videogame systems....i miss the old games, and its easier to have em all easily accessible in one place than trying to find cables for whichever system i want to use......so thats my ultimate goal........until next time... 

Blogger's backend....bleh....um...ok....shrug...

I havent posted in awhile, and it looks like blogger has shot themselves in the foot, they are telling me i have to use google chrome becsuse they no longer support the browswer i amusing now, ie 8, and theyre backend looks like crap now...if they think i am going to be forced to upgrade to google chrome, they are dreaming, i will find another blogsite if this doesnt clear up..and it doesnt look like it will anytime soon...so anyway...did our monthly shopping yesterday, and since i'm off today, i'm doing laundry!  nothing too exciting has happened since the last blog, ive progressed farther in my closet inventorying and organizing, and gotten the linux box situated next to my desk, not hooked up yet, but getting closer to the day i can get my amiga towered and hooked up and the linux box going again! slowly but surely....my poor dog has been suffering terrible allergies since the seasons changed, she got a shot that made em all but go away for a few weeks, then the vet decided to try, since they came back after the shot wore off, some pills with antihistemine/prednisone in em..they dodnt work any better than benedryl so i weened her off of em, and a specail no allergen food, which only accomplished constipation and very dark shit...poor pup..i'm weening her back on her usual food and soon benedryl....no more wasteing money at the vets, she doesnt seem to have anything that cant be treated at home...just allergies......i finally got my ankle braces i was shopping around for and am going to be trying out jogging very soon.  Ive got running shoes i bought when i was going to the gym a few years back, they are low cut so i had to be careful how i ran, i tend tio sprain my ankles if i dont wear high tops..pesky weak ankles...oh well, i'm also taking some vitamins now that seem to be making me feel better....heres to hoping...work is going ok....we've expanded into another suite and are selling furniture on consignment now......home life is still the same.....parents are doing ok, all things considered...ive decided, with a little goading froma friend, to start smoking cigars again. i ordered a couple sample packs and hopefully will get them today......theyre kind of pricey so i wont be smoking them regularly, but a once in awhile treat.....and i'll priobably be getting some fresh pipe tobacco soon as well...time to change brands/styles......also, ive decided, judging by the hot weather, its margarite/rum and coke/pina colada season!!!! so i bought some booze yesterday, and margarite/pina colada mix, i got good rum, and good silver tequila!!! now i got drink choices after work or whenever i feel like one!!! ive decided, after watching an instructional video on youtube, to mod my amiga tower a bit, gonna start with an led fan, then eventually put a transparent window in the side of it..doesnt look to terrible hard to do....of course, the way my luck goes, i'll fuck it up anyway!!!!! heh....thats about it for now...if anything exciting happens, ya right, i'll be sure to blog about it.... until next time....

Blogger has new back end...and happy hump day!!!

well well well, and well! its been awhile since i've posted a blog, I can tell because blogger has a new back end and this is the first time I've seen it! looks ok i guess, needs a bit to get used to..i can handle it tho! Today is Wednesday, or humpday to some...i was off yesterday, and worked Monday, so it actually feels like Tuesday to me!  Had an interesting breakfast meeting this morning, i get together with my ham radio club every Wednesday for breakfast.  There was ony one waitress today, and she got so overwhelmed even the cook was waiting tables...it took forever for her to even notice we were there! one guy didnt even ever get his toast...he was grumbling all the way out the door.......been an ok day so far..mildly busy at work, well, not busy now, seing as I'm writing this blog right now!  Ive made a few changes in my room lately, i got rid of the wire mesh shelves and put in a wooden skinny bookcase by my desk, scooted the doesk over about 8 inches or so, and put my linux box between the bookcase and desk... and I am currently inventorying/re-organizing the closet...i realized i was at an impasse because i needed to put things somewhere, and the closet was packed! so in order to get my room re-org done i had to get the closet inventoried and re-organized. I've also decided to get rid of most of my old video tapes, at least the original movie tapes that is...i'll keep the ones ive recorded over the years, but i came to a realization, you could say I had a revelation! an epiphany!!!! I realized i no longer need my original video tapes, i never watch em, ive got alot of them on dvd/bluray....and ive got 6 big bins full of tapes taking up space in the closet...if I could get rid of even 3 of those 6 bins, I'd have shitloads of room!!!!!! and I'm also considering putting all the stuff thats in shoebox sized bins right now, into big bins...i'd have even more room!!!! Its an ongoing project....i'm doing this so i can get my amiga 1200 out of its bin, also in the closet and get it set up.....but i need room!!!! heh......and maybe even my c64 might get a new home....its also in the closet......only time will tell what will happen!!!  I also have plans to overhaul my sheds again, mom wants my skinny smaller shed because she is convinced the world is going to end in december, and she wants to prepare for survival, even tho she always says, shes ready to go, if she dies, oh well....talk about a walking contradiction!! lol!!!  Well, Its official, the final book in the Wheel of Time series, or EPIC series, being finished by Brandon Sanderson, seeing as Robert Jordan died in 2007 I think....will be out in early January 2013...the 8th or 9th, can't remember...i'm about half way through book 7, a Crown of Swords" if i'm lucky, i might be able to read through the series again, after this read-thru, before the new book comes out....then i'll read Brandons books, people seem to think hes doing a good job with the last 2 wheel of time books hes written, i'll find out for myself soon......If the world ends in December, i'll really be pissed!!!!! maybe they can rush the book out by November!!!! heh, wishful thinking...i'm not worried however, the world IS NOT
repeat IS NOT going to end in December!!!! hell, I'll be long dead before we destroy this planet completely....and believe me, we're doing a good job right now of destroying it!  for a change its overcast and very cool today......its gonna be in the 100's next week tho, at least in the valley, or phoenix, for all you non Arizonans! I decided not to do a garden this year...just too much work for too little output, that and we still have tomatoes and zucchinis in the freezer, and they need to be tossed, they dont smell right...heh...so i'm not going to waste my time nor my energy this year, and maybe not next year either! I think thats all the news thats fit to type...or something like that....... until next time....

Happy Easter! blah, now onto laundry...

Its easter once again, seems like only a year ago easter was here..wow, how time flies...oh well, time for laundry...lol! story of my life... things have changes a bit, not monumentally, but a bit, i'm working saturdays now, and have mondays off, spring has sprung, which means yard work, which means i have to get up on the roof and clean the gutters once again.  which means i wont make the same mistake i did last year and not put my ac in the window...it was quite miserable last year, although, the year before i really didnt need the ac..lol! the weather cant make up its mind......and of course today, laundry.  i wont be making bread today seeing as the loaf i made last weekend hasnt been finished yet......and i might work on my room a bit.  I was planning on getting a new desk, we have some nice desks at the store for like 30 bucks! bigger and better than my little desk, but no matter how much i measure and plot, i cant get it to fit and have room for the other crap i have too...so all i'm gonna do is move the existing desk over a foot or so, so i can have room for my linux box! and maybe start getting my amiga 1200 out of mothballs so to speak.....we'll see, ive got mountains of magazinesa i need to read piled up infront of the desk, so those need to be moved first......sigh..so much to read so little time =) and as the title hints at, this is easter sunday...whoopie....mom is gonna make a ham for dinner.....thats about the extent of my easter holiday......i went to an estate sale yesterday and got a really cool old, but super sharp straight razor, i'm shopping around for a honing stone and i'll be learning how to shave with straight razor! cant wait! hopefully wont accidentally behead myself! lol!!! the estate sale was at the home of this towns long time barber, Tibs, they call him, hes had some health setbacks and can no longer work, so hes moving out of the area.....and he had a good collection of straight razors etc......and alot of other stuff to boot..i might go back there today to see whats left =)........until next time.....

so much for saturdays......new carpet, new tv stand, new room?

as you can tell by the title, my saturdays are gone for the summer once again, in other words, i have to work saturdays for the summer, and i'm off sunday and monday, wonderful, i was hoping against hope something woudl change, even though change is in the air, its not changin yet! THAT OK, i can get caught up on personal stuff whilst i sit and wait for my possible 1 customer a day, if that......download stuff and put it on my zip disk, or, whatever needs doing, searching and buying on ebay etc etc etc......daydreaming! such is life i guess...no point sniveling about it, cant do anything about it.....of course, that gives me a pretty full sunday to get things done, like laundry......i'm about 3/4 done, maybe finish it tomorrow...of course, i might be going to walmart tomorrow as well..sigh....no rest for the weary......ive got a loaf of bread going in the bread machine, just took the paddle out and it should be in the rising and baking mode right now......i was considering buying a newer bigger desk for my room, but after many measuring sessions, and moving it around multiple times in my mind, no matter where i mentallyput it, its still too big, so now, i'm considering putting in this very skinny bookshelf i have in the shed in place of the 2 wire mesh shelving units i have in my room, onyl thing, once again, is where to put it and how to move things to make good use of the little room i have =) still sorting thing out, but i'm pretty sure i'm not buying the desk...even tho its below dirt cheap....still not warranted......i just got an mp3 player the other day, its pretty nice..i listened to a few binaural beats tracks last night and a guided meditation, got a pretty good nights sleep, but dont remember my dreams unfortunately......i was going to get up ono the roof today and clean ou the gutters, buts its extremely windy once again, so no-go.....and i dont know if i will put in a garden this year or not....havent decided yet, if i do, i found asparagus roots at walmart, surprisingly enough, they are supposed to grow for 2 years....if i do a garden this year, i'll definately try those...the lettuce i tried last year didnt go too well...i got maybe 2 small bowls worth of leaves, oh well, live and learn =) we got new carpeting in the living room, and mom and dad finally decided to get rid of their fake presswood oaken monstrosity of tv stand! they bought a more modern, more than half the sized of the old piece of crap cabinet, looks good, or at least it will when i get everyrthing moved over to the new stand....as for new room, as i mentioned before in this blog, i am thinking of rearranging at least the desk side of my room to try to get enough extra space for my new linux box! doesnt need alot of room, buit ive got alot of crap to move around...but itll get done sooner or later, i'm gonna put my ac back in the window this year, i didnt use it last year and regretted it....so this year, its gonna get used...there are no drain holes in the case so the last time i used it i ended up with slimy sludge inside the thing...which required me to take the thing apart and thoroughly clean it out..i plan on drilling a few small holes along the underside back edge of the case for draining.....other than all that....nothing new....the weather is trying to warm up, but not succeeding to well....or succeeding very slowly....i'm looking forward to geocaching this year a bit around town..and maybe a few out of town..who knows......mountain biking, walking, hopefuly a round or 3 of golf! we'll see.....until next time...

change?/spring? is in the air, same ole same ole/and new....etc...

Is the title of this blog confusing enough? good! because i have not yet begun to confuse...First off, i keep mentioning change is in the air, well, i still feel it, but i no longer know from which direction its coming, or from which source.  I thought my job situation was about to go through a major change, as in new job,or at least job search, now, that doesnt seem to be the case now.  As shoultz used to say " I KNOW NOTHING!!!!" like the song says "the more i see the less i know" aint that the truth...oh well..so be it..such is life... and speaking of life, i still dont have one...i've resigned myself to the fact that i wont have a life until mom and dad are gone...if something happens to dad, mom can no longer live alone......and her health isnt going to get any better, so i really cant find work outside the area..and theres really no jobs in the immediate area..so again, i dont know, i just dont know, like my grandma used to say...  I had a good St Pattys day for a change, mom and dad were gone for a couple days, pattys day included to i threw a corned beef brisket in the crock pot and some carrots, taters, and a head of cabbage and ate very well that evening...i put it in early morning before i left for my radio club meeting and tendedit all day....its almost impossible to find corned beef in this area so it was a nice treat! so was all the snow we got that evening and the next day..around 8 to 10 inches! It wasnt coldenough to hard freeze thankfully so it was mostly gone the next day...and i could get my car out of the driveway to get to work monday! heh...and speaking of nice treats, i got a couple free puter towers.  One was an old win98 machine, 256 megs of ram, 40 gig hd, the only reason i took that one is for the 40 gig hd! the other tower however, is quite an older powerhouse, its got a pentium 4/3.4 gig processor, 2 gigs of ram, and the best video card ive ever seen in my life, an ati radeon with dual dvi-d outputs, hi-def baby! i bought a dvi-d to hdmi cable and it works great on my tv! can you say 42 inch hi def monitor? hehehehehe......it also has tons of fans in it, 5 total including the power supply fan, which is a 500 watt monster, 2 of the fans are led backlit, really cool electric blue! and theres led's on all 4 corners of the front of the thing, all blue, not including the hd activity and power lights! and the side of this thing is see through!! it has a plastic window in it with a lock! no key unfortunately, or i should say fortunately, it wasnt locked or i would have to do some drilling =) i also got a cordless logitech keyboad with it, no receiver unfort, but i found one on ebay, havent tried it yet tho... I'm trying to get caught up on my magazine reading, ive got mountains of mags going back a year or more! i started reading qst's last nihgt, the magazine for ham radio nuts like myself...i actually read march 2011 issue last night, thats how far behind i am! i'm trying to make room so i can finally get my old trusty amiga 1200 out of mothballs, or at least out of the closet, the tower i chose for it is short enough to sit on the left side of the desk under the shelf i put onthe wall......sao ive got alot of rearranging to do.....and i will probably put my ac in the window this year, its promising to be a miserable summer again like last year, hopefully no major fires like last year...heres to hoping!  i may or may not do a garden this year..if i do, there will be 1 ONE, and i do mean ONE! tomato plant, maybe one ONE 1, and i do mean 1! zucchini...maybe no zucchini since i still have zucchinis in the fdreezer from last year, probably have to toss em......and i dont know what else..i tried lettuce last year and it didnt do well, maybe fresh herbs? or herb? hehe, no, no herb i'm afraid! be fun to try tho! so, we'll see....havent decided yet if, or what, i will plant....I did see asparagus roots at walmart, might try it once..see what happens, supposed to grow 2 years! thatd be cool! as i said, we'll see =) lets see, what else is going on? oh ya! the store, my place of  employemnt got broken into and robbed a few sundays ago, they took alot, and dropped alot..oddly enough, so we spent the day inventorying and cleaning up..and other businesses have been hit since, and a few houses from what ive heard...so much for safe small town..lol! oh well, not much more to say, not that i can think of, i'm expecting a cordless trackball today, in our store order, a logitech, for tower i got a couple weeks ago...i forgot, i put fedora 16, the free version of redhat on that tower and it seems to work very well! i also downloaded some linux stuff to put on it, firefox, openoffice, cd/dvd burning software etc......i have a wireless router in the shed somewhere i have to dig out..then i shold have internet on it..woo hoo! we'll see.....and as the title says, spring is in the air, well, that means its pine needle raking weather! yay!!!....nleh... oh well, its gotta be done! maybe start today, maybe walk the dog, maybe both! i dont know yet!!!.......until next time....

happy leap day! my once every four year blog!

Just kiddign folks, yes today is February 29th 2012, leap day, and, i just found out, a sad day as well, Davy Jones, singer of the Monkees dies today, heart attack from what ihear, he ws only 66, too bad, too young to go this soon....he will be missed, i used to love the monkees tv show! oh well,  i dont know what the numbers are, but theres probably not too many people who die on leap day.....not that it matter really...anywho, ive been doing the same old same old, things dont change for me..unfortunately.  I'm about 3/4 of the way through zelda: skyward sword, i dont have alot of time to play recently, looks like we're getting new carpet in the near future, i really hope i'm at work that day so i dont have to move furniture around...we got snow day before yesterday, didnt stick arund too long thankfully... I had my weekly breakfast meeting with my ham radio club this morning, i tried the corned beef hash..pretty good...as you can see, my life is pretty boring, same odl schedule, same old chores, same old same old...hehe sor5y of my life pal! i bought a new memory card for my phone, and a new zip drive..both 32 gigs...well...not much to report, and its even been over a month snce ive blogged...heh...i do like to keep life boring and predictable..but this is rediculous!!!! lol!!!  until next time...
