Merry Christmas! yearly tradition...sort of....too long once again......sigh....

Tis that season once again, gift giving, decorations brought out...braving inclement weather and huge psychotic crowds to get the best deals....yes...its Christmas season.....oh joy......FA-LA-LA-LA-MEH....HO HO HO SIGH.......... ya, I'm really excited....still unemployed, my business isnt doing anything....double sigh.....great time of year so get laid off!!! heh....such is life i guess...so be it....at least i get to sleep in! actually, i had just enough money to go do a bit of Xmas shopping and see my yearly movie...the hobbit: desolation of Smaug..of course...excellent movie, you'll be blown away when you see it! i was! i had an interesting time getting there as well. I had to go the the theater in Pinetop, about 15 or so miles farther than the usual theater i go to......and because the windshield was coated in road grime since it had been snowing and sleeting a bit, i drove right passed it..lol! i finally stopped at  a gas station to wash the windshield and get directions, and realized they didn't have the squeegee things to wash windshield with....um..OK...but i noticed the roof over the gas pumps had water pouring off on side..so i drove under the waterfall and then grabbed a bunch of napkins that were in the car and cleaned off the windshield! talk about ingenuity!!! hehe......anyway got to the theater, had the front row all to myself as usual! and was officially, thoroughly blown away! did a bit of Christmas shopping on the way home.....a good time was had by....well...me!!!! i did some computer work Thursday so i had a pit of cash in my pocket.....and when i got home, i managed to get the Christmas lights up right before it got dark and started snowing....and amazingly enough! they all worked!! i didn't have 4 sections out like last year! miracle of miracle!!! as previously stated..I'm still unemployed....and business is nonexistent......Ive been putting in applications, but not hearing anything..and Ive gotten one call for business in three weeks or so....I'm not in a good cheery Christmas type mood....bah humbug!!! I don't know what the new year will bring..if anything......as Gandalf the gray once said....that remains to be seen......i have been messing about in the shed...i got rid a ton of crap and it doesn't look like Ive made a dent! still more work to do..and i haven't even started on my room and closet! lol!!! "the forest is cold, dark and deep, and i have promises to keep....and miles to go, before i sleep" so I continue to trudge on...ever going forth, laboring slowing towards a mysterious and unknown future.........until next time....

Greetings all.....been a bit since i last blogged..with good reason.....I had an interesting start to September this year...I got laid off...harrumph! oh well..so be it.....such is life...i guess......Ive been looking for a job ever since..what? 3 weeks now? i guess....and i have decided to scale back on job hunting and start my own business...it was a business i had years and years ago and gave up to go to work a the office supply....which by now has changed and been up and down so many times its not even close to being recognizable to the original version of the place.....nothing can compare to the original........anyway..i am starting...or trying to start my computer repair business again....hopefully with more success this time...hopefully....i made up some business cards and am working on a small flyer to put around town......and i even signed up for one of those little credit card readers that plug into your phone...doesn't anything to sign up...but there is a fee every time a card is swiped..i can lie with it i guess...assuming i can make enough to turn my phone back on...lol! i assume it will work over WiFi as well.. but not all WiFi spots are unsecured...we'll soon find out i guess......she couldn't have picked a worse time to lay me off either......closing in on winter, this town pretty much closes down...sigh...i"ll make the best of it...really i will....and its a good thing it happened on some levels...mainly, my shoulders and back and neck etc can heal now that i'm not carrying and moving heavy furniture....i was hurting big time......i'm feeling a bit better now tho..Ive had a couple weeks rest....I probably should turn her in..but i never got hurt and ended up in the hospital so it way be hard to impossible to prove anything..i still may look into it.....  as you may have noticed, the picture above shows a very nice day....well, it was a nice day...and a day i have been waiting for for over a year..or more..i lost track.....the folks were out of town..i wasn't working...heh... so i decided to go for a walk....I walked to the post office, then the dollar store, then home..it was a nice change of pace..i was working 6 days a week and busy at home and never had time to do anything fun......glad that's all changed now........I'M FFFFFFRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! roflmao!!!!! well.....more accurately.....I'M FFFFRRRRREEEEEEE AND PISS POOR!!!!!!!!! lol!!!  hopefully gonna change the piss poor part soon enough!!! here's to hoping!!!! its been monumentally cool, almost cold at nights, and some days lately....i love it..been raining quite a bit as well......I love the rain!!! not sure if i mentioned this in my last blog, but i got a screaming deal on some radio equipment..ive added a couple antennas and an older Kenwood transceiver to my haul.......lets see.. i got a yaesu ft-90 transceiver, a couple external speakers, 2 swr meters, multimeter, cb radio tester..lol! and a few other things..for like 50 bucks! a fellow ham passed away and his widow sold a friend in the club all his stuff....so Ive bveen picking and choosing..Oh! and a really cool soldering station and circuit board clamp!  a good haul me thinks!!! well, back to finishing my flyer, then i have to find my tools.....i have no clue where my tool pouch got to...... been a few years since Ive seen it =) I also have to put some stuff on a zip drize to carry around....so much to do so little time!! until next time.....

greetings once again... not a whole lot going on lately.......its been raining pretty much constantly here..which i am thankful for.....less worry about forest fires.........noticed the dollar stores and even walmart have put out their fall crap already..and even a few bits of Halloween stuff....gees...seems to get earlier and earlier every year!! of course...Ive already considered, and decided upon, my Halloween marathon movies.....the first four hellraisers.....the only 4 of the whole franchise worth watching IMHO.... and of course, i will get my favorite Halloween candies.....although i may cut back from 3 this year to 2.....I usually get a bag of mounds, butterfingers and Reese's peanut butter cups.....i was considering not getting butterfingers.....we'll see......and of course a couple 2 liters of coke classic......and of course, Halloween is on Thursday this year..not a day off..so i may only get one movie watched...sigh......wonder if i can win the lottery, retire before October? heh...wishful thinking  =) other than that..Ive got some minor plumbing to do.....oh..almost forgot! I got some new radio gear! I got a mobile 2 meter/440 radio, an SWR meter, a nice soldering station, an external speaker, and a CW keyer! for 60 bucks! unheard of deal! turns out a fellow HAM has passed away, and a friend purchased all his equipment for a song and is in turn selling it for a song....i got beat to the hf radio unfortunately...although, i don't have an HF antenna so it would have been  bit pointless anyway..but i got some good stuff....i can at least have a radio in the house that doesn't require batteries! lol all i had before was my handy-talkie! lets see what else......I got a couple laserdiscs i was wanting and finally found affordable....rocky horror picture show, and scrooged with bill murray! i dont really collect laserdiscs, just wanted a few i remembered from the past......cant wait to watch them =) sigh..and i do mean SIGH! seems the seasons are once again starting to change and I am once again starting to think about winter.....the year absolutely flew by..once again..that really annoys me..especially since i didn't get to enjoy summer at all...working 6 days a week and all....and now that i have a couple days off, the weather isn't cooperating......double sigh....... Ive been trying to eat healthier and walk the dog more..but shes getting older and cant really walk as far as she used to.......it sucks not having time for anything.....triple sigh......i wish i could leave and just start a new life..but i cant...my folks are in failing health, especially dad, and i couldnt leave them if i wanted to......so life continues to suck.......quadruple sigh........ no sense bitching and whining about it..can't do anything about it.......one can dream....can't one?????........................until next time...

Good news and bad news....and maybe...good news IN bad news?!?!?!?

greetings all, been a bit since my last blog...not too many monumental happenings......working my ass off as usual..until recently anyway...

good news...I got a new phone! I got a drioid razr hd..and i absolutely love it!!! i even love the on screen keyboard...better than the old droid 2 slide out i must admit.......and i upgraded at the right time..verizon gave me the phone free, free activation, free 2 day shipping etc..the only thing i had to pay was the upgrade fee of 30 bucks....good deal i think..i even took a friends advice and got an otter box for it...found it on ebay for more than half price! 20 bucks and free shipping..brand new i the box! and it works great! it even fits in my new pouch! and now....

the bad news......

my hours got cut by 2 whole days! the good news in bad news? i have a couple extra days to get stuff done around the house etc now...... less money, but i can finally try tyo get caught up on my sleep...i wsas getting tired of working 6 days a week.....and i knew it was coming, its gets very very slow in this town come fall and especially winter.....so be it..... on another note...ive made some headway in my sheds.....gotten rid of several huge bags of garbage..crap i dont need and will never use.....I havent even started onthe closet yet...lol! that aughta be interesting.....and if i havent mentioned it yet, i finally got the new ram for my amiga 1200...now i'm in the market for a 19 to 22", depending on price, television, lcd of course so i can hook up my c64 right next to my amiga....when i get that, I'll finally be ready to drag my amiga out of the closet and get it set up.....i even got a wall mount for my amiga monitor lcd monitor.....it looks like it needs new back light, lightbulb tubes.....i hope thats all it needs..need to start shopping for those, i an use my 42" tv for an amiga monitor for the time being...at least i hope it works with it =) well, gotta finish laundry, my sunday ritual, then i'm going shopping..........until next time......

Rain Rain Rain!!!! ups and downs etc......

well, here I am again, typing away.......not a whole lot going on since last blog, but some....mainly, my dads heart is not doing well, they cant fix the arrhythmia, so they said he has to live with it...everyone is depressed over that news......my sis seems to be doing OK, shes looking for a job from what i hear, i guess the treatment is going well? we'll see.  same old same old at work...busier than hell as usual, not sleeping much as usual, hurting like crazy as usual.....gees.....i finally started cleaning out the sheds, finally....I took a load of crap to the HOST (Heber/Overgaard service team) one of our 4 or 5 thrift stores in town..one of the oldest i believe....and ive also thrown out a pile of crap as well...its weird, you get something years ago and sya oh wow! I can do somehting really cool with this!......a few years go by..then its what the hell did i ever get this for?!?!?! i cant imagine any use for it whatsoever!!!! lol! and now that ive thrown some stuff away i'll probably find a use for it now!! heh......the picture above is just a small part of my commodore stuff...as you can tell it really needs to be organized! lol! I even still have my old black and white TV! on the left about halfway up...i actually used it as a commodore 64 monitor for a bit! lol! the 2 bins on the bottom are full of misc cables etc..need to organize those as well...there's even a couple accelerator + disk drives for the c64...and if you're really keen, there's a 1541-II nestled in there somewhere! i need to get or build a power supply for it.....and behind all that stuff is a mountain of misc 1541 drives..even a few 1540 and vic-1541's in various states of repair...... wish i had more free time.....maybe when this shed cleaning if done, and winter sets in, and i get my work hours cut, i'll have a bit more free time......i havent touched my closet or the main shed too much as of yet..so it will take awhile......i have made a bit of progress in on area however...i finally got the new ram for my Amiga 1200! and i even ordered a wall mount for my 17" monitor..its too tall to fit under the shelf above my desk with its original base, so i am going to mount it to the wall so i can swivel it etc..and the mount stretches out nearly to the edge of the desk so i'll be able to see it close up! i just need to figure out how to split the VGA signal to my 42" TV and the monitor...switch box perhaps! i also have a cooling platform to put under my miggy seeing as the accelerator card in the belly bay runs a bit hot..in the old days, i wired a tower fan to a dc ps and plugged it into the wall and leaned it against the side of my keyboard......and raised the keyboard a bit....i cant tell you how many times i accidentally stuck my fingers into the fan blades! ouch! but i think i have it figured out now....i got some big rubber feet to attach tothe bottom of my 1200 so the cooling pad has some space to work...all in good time i suppose.....lets see, what else if going on..i watched resident evil retribution last night.....i think they've milked that series enough..i wasn't impressed..good effects, almost naked Milla!!!! hehe...other than that...meh........oh! and while i was working on my shed, i managed to sprain my ankle! lovely! I'm still hobbling about in a good bit of pain....grumble....figures.... i'm on the last book of the wheel of time series..a memory of light......bout a quarter way through so far.....i'll finally be able to read some of the other books i've collected over the years when i'm finally finished......i finally bought new super mario bros wii, pretty cool game..it has elements of mario 2 and 3 etc.....it seems harder than it really should be..i guess i'm getting old! lol! I'm still hoping to get a ps3 for xmas....i'm really hoping they lower the price of ps3 when the ps4 is released......I'm still looking for twinkies, since theyve been re-released....i guess it takes awhile to stock the whole country! hopefully wqhen i got shopping next weekend i'll find some.......other than that...today is laundry day as usual..and i think i am going to do a bit in the shed again today.....probable fill up another huge trash bag..hopefully!....................................................................................................................until next time....

OOPS!!!!  I forgot the rain rain rain!!! part....its been raining pretty much non stop here for the last couple weeks! fire danger averted for the time being...we all breathed a sigh of relief over that! hopefully the wetness will continue to some degree until winter....my garden is doing great because of it..escept my orange pepper plants, both of which died inexplicably......of course, i had to get on the roof in a lightning storm to unclog gutters......other than that...  until next time.....again....

4th of July happenings, tea!!! rain!!! etc etc etc....

hello everyone! all 2 of ya! lol! well, had an interesting 4th of July week, weekend..whatever...... actually, the 4th of July was on Thursday, the 6th was the 4th of July parade in this town, which Ive uploaded to my Flickr page... http://www.flickr.com/photos/rockyspics/sets/72157634515249901/   there's the link in case you want to peruse.  any who, I decided to sleep in a bit, which made me run a bit late, you see, they close the highway at...well, they were supposed to close the highway at 10 am, it was more like 10:30 or so..anyway, i got out of the house late and was heading down forest park Dr and saw a deputy talking to cars as they went down the road, i turned right and headed a different route, thankfully got to where i was hoping to go..subway, for my yearly tradition, i get a foot long breakfast sandwich, then head over to my store, well, where i work, and eat, then walk down and watch the parade...since i have a new employer, and new store owner, i decided to sit in the truck and eat...it was actually pretty cool for a change.  then i went and talked with Mary, at the flooring store next door, then Ken and Blondie of Blondie's deli next door asked Mary to take their pics next to their sign, so i ended up walking over there and helping with that endeavor... then, it was finally time to walk to the parade.  I took tons of pics, as you can tell from my Flickr page, and there's  even a pic of me standing on the parade route! (fair warning) lol! i usually stand on the highway at he end of forest park Dr......people still threw candy even though they are not supposed to, and i even saw a water balloon being tossed..shame shame.......it looked as if it was going to rain, it got might cool for a bit....it started raining after i was safely inside Blondie's eating a great pulled pork sandwich!  my nephew and his girlfriend came up for a few days, as as usual, the town was absolutely packed....I'm sure glad its over..lol! on a good note, because of all the rain, mom and dad could finally enjoy the giant sparklers i got them a couple years back, even got my nephew and girlfriend outside for a few sparklers.....I figured Sunday was going to be a day of rest..lol! i ended up going to bashas in snowflake and finishing my laundry when i got home.....i don't mind shopping, i really don't, the kids decided to leave that day instead of Monday so it gave mom and dad extra time with the grand kids.....and tonight....Monday..i brewed loose leaf tea for the first time! i even got my first teapot in the mail today! woo hoo! well, actually just loose tea, its the same stuff that's usually in the teabags....twinings English breakfast...i have so really good loose leaf teas on order from stash tea co, and harvest delight, i got some satisphur assam, a really good black tea, and a really good oolong tea, cant remember the name....cant wait to get them! i really need to get away from sodas for the most part, so i am going to try to drink more tea......the teapot i got was on eBay for 5 bucks! its a 4 cup pot..perfect for me! and i got a tea kettle from work, someone brought it in for consignment, get a screaming deal on that as well!  and i even got brave and bought some Starbucks Italian roast coffee, it was on sale so i decided to give it a go..i absolutely love it! the darker the roast the better in my opinion! lets see, what else....my garden is doing OK, my poor orange pepper plant got beat to crap by the torrential deluge we had the other day....tons of hail, wind etc..hopefully it will bounce back..hopefully......oh, and Ive started my shed and closet etc spring cleaning, Ive already thrown tons of stuff away...its one of those situations I'm sure everyone has been in...you find something neat that you cant seem to live without, something that will complete some project or another, you're thrilled to death you found it! however, it sits in the shed or closet or wherever for a few years, and when you come across it again, you have absolutely no clue why you had it, or cant believe you wasted money or energy taking it or buying it.....well, Ive got tons of crap like that, so Ive decided to have a purge...lol! also, i haven't mentioned in this blog yet, although Ive mentioned it on Facebook and twitter, my dad is having heart issues, hes have arrhythmia, he had a procedure a couple weeks back to see whats going on, they didn't find a clot thankfully, they put him on a new pill of some sort, he had a checkup today, and hes still in arrhythmia, i guess they are going to leave him on the pills and re-check the icd(pacemaker) so see if its faulty, then perhaps another procedure of some type....i don't know..its very worrisome though.....hoping for the best...mom even mentioned transplant a time or two..not good to hear that..oh well....also, found out a couple weeks ago, my sister has cancer, leukemia to be exact..she started chemo, then they sent her home, her insurance wasn't going to pay to keep her in the hospital any longer, then she ended up back in the hospital with pneumonia, now shes home again......i don't know what going to happen, but it doesn't look good, keeping up hope though......then in the middle of all this we find out we have termites! gees! thankfully not as bad as we thought, we have to have part of the back porch rebuilt and the whole house sprayed....gonna cost a pretty penny.....sigh......if its not one thing its another.....well, time for bed.......cant think of anything Ive left out.....except i bought new super Mario bros Wii and he guide for it...a lot harder than i imagined it would be....oh well, takes my mind off things.....i really want to start playing xenoblade chronicles again, just have to find the time! until next time.....

greetings one and all! not a lot exciting has been going on lately, I'm working more hours, different hours, store is getting really busy! I got my garden in the ground finally......my poor orange pepper plant isnt doing too well....i think it got over watered....it seems to have shriveled up a bit....so hopefully laying off the water for awhile will make it bounce back...the corn is doing great, as is everything else i put in......I bought a new preamp for my turntable..haven't hooked it up yet..but will soon...i also bought, or i should say finally found, Sinatra at the sands on vinyl...affordable copy finally...amazing the price of vinyl nowadays..i also bought Ronny James Dio's first album, from 1984..on vinyl...still waiting for that to arrive.....a lot of big news coming out of the E# show last week....specifically the new ps4 design was finally revealed, and specs on the new Xbox 0ne.....i would never buy a Microsoft product, and i will definitely NOT be buying one of those...the ps4 however..looks pretty intriguing......Nintendo  announced a bunch of new games..but didn't debut the new Zelda U......which is a little disappointing..they did however mention a new Mario, so not a total loss......i finally decided to get new super Mario bros Wii, which I am awaiting the arrival of...i want to start playing, again, xenoblade chronicles on my Wii.. i started when i first got it, but haven't really had time, but i am going to make time now if it kills me....I'm almost done with the wheel of time series of books..I'm about 90% done with towers of midnight, second to last book....i read pretty much every night..but when I'm done with this series, I'm going to take a break from reading and play some mindless video games.....and speaking of..again...I am hoping the ps3 and wii-u will both come down in price this holiday season, then maybe i can get one or the other...maybe.....depends what games are out for the wii-u of course......and maybe the debut of the ps4 will make sony lower the price of the ps3.....its around 250.00 right now....i think 199.99 would make me get one....we'll see......I got a new desk....well, a new, used desk...its bigger than the one i had before..i cant open the filing cabinet now..but oh well.....such is life...so be it......i needed a bigger desk for  my Amiga 1200.....you should have seen it....i had to bring it in through the window..lol!!!! I had to wedge it in just right so it wouldn't slide back out, then run into the house and grab it and pull it in..not easy..but got it done! it was only 20 bucks at work! good deal fro such a solid desk..and it has hole sin top that are made for a hutch!  maybe someday!!! we had a customer who needed a small computer desk, when that one came in i bought it and ran it home then unloaded and brought my smaller desk in, and thankfully the guy bought my desk! I paid 12.00 bucks for it about 3 years ago..and sold it for 20!!! what a deal!!! so everyone was happy! all i need now is some new ram for my a1200 and it'll be good to go...then i can bring it out of the closet and get er set up!!! cant wait....theres a place on ebay that still makes 72 pin simms, at a good price..so i'll be ordering soon......as you may have noticed by the titel of this post, its fathers day......glasd my folks are still around.....although, their health isnt too good so who knows how long theyll be around....gotta make the best of it while they an i still can.....i just made potato salad and mom made a cheesecake, and I am going to grill some nice steaks tonight.....fun day will be had by all.....and as soon as i'm done with laundry, I'll have fun! It was overcast earlier a bit..but now its sunny and a little windy......there is a fire near flagstaff which should be contained by now, but nothing nearby.....yet......i hate the summer months wondering where the next fire will start and if the town will survive......i start to relax come October...only 4 months away...grumble..cringe.....and speaking of only months away....there's only 192 days until xmas!!!!! damn!!!! the year is a little over half over!!! where the *&%# did the freaking year go?!?!?!? I mean gees!!!!!! of course...i say the same thing around this same time every year.....but it still amazes me how fast time flies!!!!! and I'll bet if i was retired it would still fly by.....sigh...so be it..............until next time....

summer..heat..finally....bleh.....more hours, more pay, less life....not possible? sigh...

oh my goodness!! there are only 205 days, 12 hours, 11 minutes and 24 seconds until Xmas!!!!!! better start preparing......hoping we have another family Xmas this year..my father is having heart problems...seems he has been in arrhythmia for the last few weeks, he is going to have a  procedure Wednesday to see whats going on...hopefully his pacemaker(ICD) just needs to be adjusted....hopefully his pacemaker is still useful....if hi heart has gotten that bad.....well, trying to think positive about it....I know a lot of people are praying for him.....hoping for the best.....impossible to prepare/brace for the worse......sigh.....on other subjects..my work hours are going to change again......going to be 9 - 4 Monday thru Saturday starting a week from tomorrow......so i will not be running for president of my amateur radio club this year...unfortunately, no one else wants it..so we'll see what happens......i can no longer participate or be available as much as i need to be....so I'm through......Its finally feels like summer..bout time!!!! its been cold and dreary for was too long..even though i enjoy cold and dreary..enough is enough already! lol!!!  I'm working on laundry today, will be heading to Ace Hardware to pick up some manure for my garden..maybe a few plants if they have anything decent......need to pick up a new sun hat..mine fell apart....no sense wearing a sun hat with no brim! lol!  I'll also be doing some raking today....dads definitely in no condition to continue doing that..so i have to finish it....and of course, i will probably be cleaning house when i get home from work at nights...so, I'll have less of a life then usual.....if such a thing is possible....double sigh........Ive been following the announcements of the new Xbox one and ps4 lately....i figure, when the ps4 comes out, the ps3 will finally be affordable......hopefully......I have no interest in an Xbox...i don't buy microcrap products if i can avoid it.....and i especially hate winblows 8...we have a puter at work with it..it sucks......I recently bought a preamp for my turntable......hopefully it works well..haven't had time to take it out of the package yet..but looking forward to playing my latest LP acquisition, Sinatra at the sands, from about the mid 60's the vinyl is a little dirty, but in good shape......I've got vinyl cleaners, so no worries.....i'm about half way through book 13 of the wheel of time series...the final book, a memory of light is patiently waiting for me to get to it......I must say, Brandon Sanderson has done an exceptional job finishing the series..since Robert Jordan died in 2007......I'm impressed and awed by Brandon's talent....I tried to watch a movie last night called v/h/s it sucked so bad i had to turn it off about 15 minutes in..super sucked!!!! the 50th anniversary of the Kennedy assassination is coming up this November....... probably be tons of new documentaries and old ones replayed on TV...I'm an amateur researcher on the subject..I really don't think Oswald had a lot to do with it..he may have been part of an assassination team..maybe, he probably didn't fire the shots....he was, as he said, just a patsy! we may never know for sure, but that's my opinion of it......on a lighter note..i bought some more cigars..I got my Irish cigars, Erin go Braugh, little cigarillos flavored with Irish whiskey! yum! and I'm still waiting for my Victor Sinclair D'artanians.....skinny cigars that are supposed to be really good......funny thing is, the last time i ordered cigars, may 26, 2012.....my most recent order? may 26, 2013!! roflmao!!!!!! i didn't even realize i had done that until i looked at the order history in my account....pretty good timing eh??? hehe......oh well..that's about it for this session.......cant think of anything else......well..i would still like to clean out my shed...i would love to be able to enjoy my summer for a change..lol! ya right, i'm not going to have any kind of a life until my folks are both dead...not that i want that to happen anytime soon mind you......that seems the reality of it unfortunately............almost forgot...change is once again in the air...I don't know why..i doubt it has anything to do with my hour change at work.....I've yet to work it out...I'll keep you posted as things transpire....................until next time.................

Spring! finally..and other matters...

Hello again, yes, as you can tell, by the title, its finally spring! nicer weather, summer visitors coming into town etc...also, I'm now working 6 days a week...so much for having a life! lol! and also so much for my spring cleaning shed and closet expedition..i have no time for anything now...needed the extra money, but didn't want to lose the extra time..oh well......maybe someday I'll be retired and have a life...ya right..who am i kidding......at least i still make time to walk the dog....I cant believe there's only 246 more days until xmas! the year is almost half over already! gees!!!! time flies when you don't want it to......I've heard there may be some job openings at the forest service, maybe if i can get one of those I'll have more time....and less pain...my shoulders are hurting big time..my back is hurting......my hip is hurting..my arthritis is getting worse, and god only knows whats wrong with my shoulders..torn labrum maybe? I dunno.....but i really need a desk job....or better yet! retirement! lol! I'll just go and grab a powerball ticket! heh..now wouldn't that be nice? I'm getting too old and too sore for all this furniture moving shit! we'll see.......something to work towards anyway......i really want to get all my puters up and running, get my Amiga 1200 going again, my linux box needs to be used more..my new ink cartridges are probably dried up by now its been so long since ive used the printer...sigh.....even my laptop is in desperate need of software updates etc.....and i cant even think about playing video games right now..NO TIME!!!!!! grumble......and so much for being able to play golf this year, go mountain biking, hiking, etc!!! i really hate my life sometimes....most of the times it seems......and on another weird note......change is in the air again.....very very subtle...but its there....no clue what it shinting at...but change is coming...here we go again! heh.....until next time....

Its almost spring! a new level of thought enters the fray

greetings one and all...! yes indeed, its almost spring! at least it will be soon..end of march soon......and I've decided a spring cleaning and reorganization of my shed/commodore warehouse is in order...I've come to the realization that half the shit in my shed needs to go..has no real use..and i could probably sell some of it on eBay..which I probably will......I need to do the same with my room and closet...my thinking has changed and every time i look in the shed or closet, i see stuff i really don't need..no more keeping something just because i think its cool....if it has no use other than a dust catcher..its gone......i have tons of stuff i used in my apartment many years ago whilst attending school..which ultimately turned out to be ill-fated...that stuff can go....definitely....tons of xmas stuff i can combine into one bin......I've never used any of it, I've got so much xmas crap i could probably do with out it..we'll see....  on a lighter note..I'm finally over, for the most part, my gout.....and I've started taking allopurinol, a gout preventative, so hopefully this last gout attack was indeed, my last attack! and luckily for me, i can drink moderately with this med, i only drink moderately anyway so no changes!!!  my hours at work have been cut temporarily, hopefully anyway, and as of late been rather wonky! I'm off today, have to work tomorrow and have to come in a couple hours early friday and Saturday, due to our annual sidewalk sale on Saturday, which also includes, this weekend anyway, our grand opening and ribbon cutting! we will be serving hotdogs and drinks for a couple hours, and business seems to be picking up as the weather gets nicer...summer visitors will be pouring into town in the next couple months so hopefully we'll get even busier! and hopefully more hours for me! i really need them, ive got a 400 dollar medical bill for my labs to pay off and a few other things to deal with......oh! and on the Morgantown front! A good, long time friend of mine is moving to Tennessee! I wish him and his family the very best on their new adventure! I wish i could make a location change like that...maybe someday, after my folks are gone...I'll be heading back east! also, another, long time friend back east, has just bought himself a Hummer h3 for his birthday this last Saturday the 9th of march! good for him! I'm sure he'll really appreciate it in the Ohio winters to come! gee! things are changing for everyone but me! lol! (snivel...whine..sniff...cry...) oh well, my times a coming..sooner or later!!!!! chin up mate! heh.........until next time....

health update, birthday blues, cutbacks oh my!

OK, been a bit since I last blogged..so here goes....I got the results of my blood tests...only Issue i really have is high blood pressure...I AM NOT DIABETIC!!!!! that was a big relief! although, when the nurse called me she said "we have the results of your blood tests..can you come in first thing in the morning?" needless to say, I didn't sleep at all that night.... they say a few things needed to be worked on, but I'm not having anything m,ajor..besides the aforementioned high blood pressure......I've changed my eating habits a bit anyway...smaller portions, trying to stay away from treats and sugary stuff...although, i bought some girl scout cookies couple days ago...a small cheat, but oh well....they always set up in the lobby of my bank around this time of year.... and since i don't have insurance..i got a 400 dollar bill from the doctors office in the mail! what a nice birthday present! and speaking of... I turned 42 on the 19th of February! I even got a kindle fire hd as a present! very nice! I finally joined the pad craze! I managed to hack it a bit and put a c64 and an Amiga emulator app on it....amazon blocked the Google play store..but you can side load pretty much any android app......pretty cool! things are OK at work.,unfortunately, my hours got cut back..I'm working 24 hours a week instead of 30....hopefully I'll get more hours come spring....hopefully...as for birthday blues....I was sick on my birthday, if you can believe that....i started feeling bad earlier that day, had the terminal runs, felt generally like crap....by the time i got home....i collapsed on the couch, and spent the evening running back and forth to the bathroom....I know what it was too......it was what we used to call "toxic combinations" a combination of two foods that would have miscellaneous bad reactions on us.... by us, i mean, an old high school acquaintance and I...anyway, i made the mistake of eating 3 bananas and half a can of almonds the night before....and that's pretty much what it smelled like......or rancid versions thereof......so we celebrated my birthday the next day when i felt human once again......I did have a bit of luck during my last grocery outing a couple weeks ago...i found, at Bashas, they had several bottles of Drambuie on clearance..usually 40 or 50 bucks or so..they had them for around 20 bucks a bottle...needless to say, i bought one..and i really like it! in case some of you don't know, Drambuie is a liqueur made from scotch, special honey and misc spices..made in Scotland of course...very very good!  never thought I'd see the day I could afford it!!! I plan, today, if possible to do some cleaning and rearranging in my room..and hopefully start spring cleaning my sheds weather permitting.....we got about 5 inches of snow overnight and nobody predicted it! lol! I also found out, I'll be getting some money back from fed taxes..and have to pay a bit to state taxes....that's the way it always is..of course, next year, I'll be paying both, since I'm making more hourly now...grumble...such is life, i guess.................................until next time................

Gloomy Sunday.......

No, I am not referring to the Hungarian suicide song.....it is actually very gloomy today..for several reasons.....the main reason is its been raining for about 3 days now..and not going to quite until Monday or Tuesday...fortunately, i like it gloomy....rainy drizzly days are my favorite kind of days......another reason its gloomy is, ive been having health problems the last couple weeks..I didn't know what it was, but i figured it was either my blood pressure, or my blood sugars.....so I'm going to bite the bullet and go see a doctor tomorrow....probably blow every penny i have left from my paycheck..but i guess its necessary....i was checking my blood pressure the last few days with my home meter, and it read a few times at around 155 over 100! wow! i was feeling weird headed and dizzy and just generally not feeling good for the last few weeks, and i couldn't remember if i still had my home cuff..but i eventually found it....and it looks like i have high blood pressure..usual reading is around 195 over 90 ish...so hopefully I'll get a prescription tomorrow..I've been making many life changes...changing eating habits etc..hard to get any exercise when its been mostly sub zero and snow covered most of the winter, and i cant afford to join the gym..so I'll have to do jumping jacks or something..hah! last time i went to our local med center, the dumb broad that was there at the time.. refused to give me a prescription.....and my blood pressure was about the same at that time.....she said "don't drink don't smoke eat right and exercise....that will be 97 dollars please!" needless to say..i refused to pay seeing as she only gave me about 3 minutes of her time....she kept running in and out of the room to talk on the phone, and talk to friends who kept wandering into the place.....now there's a different doctor there now and he better not screw me or its the last time i ever go to that place......oh well..we'll see what happens tomorrow.....i feel good today for a change..no annoying mild headache..no dizziness or weird headedness....so we'll see what happens........my blood sugars are a bit elevated as well..don't know if my blood pressure has anything to do about it..but i can only afford so much at a time...other than that..mom is in mega nag mode so i need to conclude this blog for today...until next time....

An interesting weekend so far.....I've said it before, but gave things another chance..now, its for good....needed to be.....I've let go of a past situation......I tried to make a go of it.but it just wont work....I tried to bring a bit of normalcy to a friends life....but his bitterness and jadedness overwhelmed it...so its over...for good...he can have his lonely, impoverished bitterness he clings so hard to.....he is beyond help...sad...but that's life..you can only do so much......on a lighter note..I have tomorrow off...mlk day as it happens.....what a nice surprise!  My employer decided to be open Saturdays and closed only on Sundays...she will be there alone on Mondays so we'll only be closed one day a week....good thinking!  I don't really have plans tomorrow....just lay low......today however..i need to go to Ace Hardware, and the dollar stores...I want to browse at Ace, haven't been able to do so in a long time......its still a bit too cold to do anything outside..buts its getting nicer, slowly but surely......I'm still thinking about what to do with my Amiga and c64...maybe I'll build a custom desk and hutch for it..I don't know yet......I got a cool new laserdisc the other day..and yes, it happens to be new......it was still sealed in plastic from the factory! still had the original price tag on it to! 39.95!!!!! gees!!!!!! of course, that was from the late 90's sometime..it was lawnmower man unrated directors cut! not available on DVD or blue-ray yet, as far as i could tell...it covers two discs! can't wait to watch it....! I also got a new toy! of sorts! a 60 disc CD changer.....can't wait to play with that either..i even splurged a bit and got an ancient CD from 1984! Queensryche the warning......it has take hold of the flame on it..my favorite Queensryche song..or at least one of them......other than that..not a whole lot going on..oh..almost forgot....i decided to say "eh, what the fuck!" and bought a couple boxes of dot matrix, fan fold printer paper.....we had three boxes collecting dust at the store, and i found out that our cost sky rocketed on that stuff..so i bought it at the old, 5 or so years ago cost......I still have my star nx-1000 II multifont printer from my past Amiga days, and if i do set up my Amiga, I'll need a printer....and that paper is probably getting harder to find.....so i grabbed it..i may just get the other box next month..... its still in the truck, I've got to put it away today.....keep it on the shed for the time being...speaking of which.....i think its time for another mass cleaning and reorganization party! probably tons of shit i can throw out......it seems, the more time goes by, the more irrelevant a lot of my crap becomes......springtime project perhaps...........until next time.....

OUT WITH THE OLD...HELLO 2013!

well well, we managed to get through 2012....mayan non-apocalypse and everything! looking forward to 2013? perhaps......we shall see what transpires......its possible..i might get a wii-u this year..maybe..depends on what i learn about the new zelda..and possible new mario game....more than likely, i will end up owning a ps3 this year.....i'm pretty sure the new zelda wont be out until late 2014......so a ps3 may be first......assuming sony gets their head out of their asses and lowers the prices.....if the ps4 comes out later this year that may just happen....ive noticed a few blogs go over what happened the previous year, i wont do that......nothing all that exciting..except the fact, last month, i got a new employer, and a raise of sorts! so that was the change i was feeling all year and before.....hmmm.......until next time...
